Ureal 3 engine will probably be used for graphics/AI. Epic has more expertise with that. Story, Level design, Gameplay, thats Nintendo's expertise. Let's face it, Nintendo wants their key, slightly mature franchises(Zelda,Metroid, maybe even Donkey Kong(imaging a life like Ape running through a jungle environment created using Unreal 3...ooh)) to look stunning. They(Nintendo) are not hd graphic experts. They will need the help of companies like EPIC to help guide and catch them up. If it's an Nintendo IP you best believe that they are going to be there from start to finish. Their brand means more then their lives and they won't have anyone messing it up. This is good people. Very very good...Regardless of what IP Nintendo decides to create in hd, it will blow ever ones minds right in front of their own faces because noone is use to seeing Nintendo's IP's running in HD. They make the best and most entertaining games and now will have Awsome HD graphics and a touchscreen contoller to top itall off. Trust Me Sony and Microsoft are shaking in their boots because now they have to add the fun and entertainment in their games to go with the over-the-top graphics that they seem to focus on over and over.

If not Unreal Engine 4 then Unreal Engine 3 with Samaritan Demo graphics at the very least.

If it's lower than Samaritan I will be pissed, because it was made for current-gen I believe. It looked very very good, but not typically next-gen.
No sig.

If it is truly epic make the new metroid than it will be beyond great and most of you will buy it because your Nintendo fans.

And as fans it should be pretty obvious that Nintendo wouldn't hand metroid to epic if they didn't think that they were capable.

Hmm admittingly it si very hard to believe. I can see Metroid using UE 3, but EG actually being the dev? again doesn't seem likely. But I hope I'm wrong.

If they are the Devs they will only make a remake. There was this video talking about how they choose if a Dev will make a new game in the series or just a remake. I need to find that video again. I think they will fit more into the remake category.

NO! That's bad news! That would be absolute horrible!
Metroid is about exploring and figuring out puzzles to get from point A to point B, and not a mindless shooter, because Epic Games only produces mindless shooters!

Erm, Shadow Complex?

I just dont want Metroid to end up like CoD. If Epic does that I may as well just loose all faith in gaming and actually exercise again. I just want them to do the graphics and AI. I still want Retro to do things like plot.

Looked into Shadow Complex and it seems that the Subsidiary of Epic Games, Chair Entertainment would be the most likely candidates to work on the game. Shadow Complex was a game that was generally well received and was inspired by the Metroid games. Chair will be a great fit for a Metroid game, that is if this rumor is true.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

I highly doubt it, but lets remember Metriod Prime ran on a very heavily modified version of Unreal Engine 2. So I do think the next Metriod may run on Unreal Engine 3.

Why can't we get a new Metroid made by a development team internal to Nintendo. This has the potential to be great, after all Prime, and Other M (arguably) were.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

I'd be less surprised to see a brand new shooter, similar to Halo but.... not. 'Course, I'd see Ninty teaming up with HVS before they team up with Epic.

Ya know, they could actually be working on a 2D title. That makes a lot of sense, actually. I've heard that Chair closed down, though, but I may be misinformed with that.

I don't think so, they were the ones behind Infinity Blade I and II
