If not Unreal Engine 4 then Unreal Engine 3 with Samaritan Demo graphics at the very least.
If it's lower than Samaritan I will be pissed, because it was made for current-gen I believe. It looked very very good, but not typically next-gen.

And as fans it should be pretty obvious that Nintendo wouldn't hand metroid to epic if they didn't think that they were capable.

If they are the Devs they will only make a remake. There was this video talking about how they choose if a Dev will make a new game in the series or just a remake. I need to find that video again. I think they will fit more into the remake category.Hmm admittingly it si very hard to believe. I can see Metroid using UE 3, but EG actually being the dev? again doesn't seem likely. But I hope I'm wrong.

NO! That's bad news! That would be absolute horrible!
Metroid is about exploring and figuring out puzzles to get from point A to point B, and not a mindless shooter, because Epic Games only produces mindless shooters!
Erm, Shadow Complex?

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

Looked into Shadow Complex and it seems that the Subsidiary of Epic Games, Chair Entertainment would be the most likely candidates to work on the game. Shadow Complex was a game that was generally well received and was inspired by the Metroid games. Chair will be a great fit for a Metroid game, that is if this rumor is true.
Ya know, they could actually be working on a 2D title. That makes a lot of sense, actually. I've heard that Chair closed down, though, but I may be misinformed with that.

I don't think so, they were the ones behind Infinity Blade I and II
