I see but if you only change the special moves, it would be useless to only make the moves aesthetic. But if you're talking about the customizable moveset in general, then I understand. And for the Level-up system, I totally understand why you don't like it, but the idea is only to make the character evolve aesthetically, to create a kind of story for the character and the first thing that made sense to me was the leveling up system. But I don't mean in any way that the characters with the highest level is stronger because that would unbalance the game too much. The customizable movesets idea is a bit... eh. I can see problems and game-breakers already. It'd be much better if:
a. You could only change special moves
b. The changes were entirely aesthetic (i.e. the moves change appearance, but not effect.)
The custom costumes would be awesome and DLC-friendly, as well as removing clone issues. I don't like the thought of adding additional effects that might change the character, though.
I hate the level-up system you proposed. It's a fighting game, not an RPG. Maybe the experience points will go towards collectibles (e.g. stickers and trophies) instead? Alternately, the level-ups should only provide new appearances and, like in the Pokémon Trainer example, new characters.
What's the whole email???Email this to Nintendonoa.
Lol Ponkotsu ideas.
I have thought of that too and I think this is awesome, but I think they can't just transform that super popular series from 2d to 3d. To me, the thing that makes the most sense is that Nintendo creates a kind of brother series. It would be a spin off. People could buy the 2d smashes and the 3d smashes as separate games. My mind, has officially, been blown D:
Don't worry, it's a good thing!
That's an awesome idea, why would anyone hate it?
I'd also like some sort of 3D mode, where instead of fighting in 2D, you could be in a full 3D environment!
Oh thats true! I didn't think about that! Everyday I feel my ideas get more realisticBrilliant! These would add a level of depth and complexity that the series could really benefit from. The interesting thing about your ideas as well is that they relate to a custom single player experience, which is exactly the approach he wants to take with the 3DS version of the game.
What do you mean there?I'm thinking, would a 'combo system' work well with Super Smash Bros.? Will it work?
No the characters wont become stronger and take less damage because I agree with you, it would mess up the entire game.It would.
For leveling up: Would the character become stronger, take less damage, etc (like in Pokemon?)
I hope not. That would mess up the entire game. I want all the characters to be evenly matched, one character shouldn't have an advantage just because that character is a higher level.

Yes, that's what I was thinking. I meant that it would be 'a' OR 'b', not both.I see but if you only change the special moves, it would be useless to only make the moves aesthetic. Sorry about the misunderstanding. I heard "level up" and something in my brain just clicked the wrong way. It would be quite interesting, actually.
What we do is, if we ever need that extra push over the cliff, you know what we do?

Hey for some reason I thought about Monster Hunter when reading your post. What would be awesome is that Nintendo chooses Monster Hunter as a 3rd party representation. Each alternate costume would be a different weapon and you'd start with almost no armor at all. When leveling up, you would get some armors and new weapons and the old ones would become alternate costumes. This way, you would have six characters in one slot because each weapon has a different moveset. The whole armor thing would be aesthetic though. It won't make any difference damage wise, but the moveset would be different, depending on what weapon you chose. Wouldn't that be nice?Yes, that's what I was thinking. I meant that it would be 'a' OR 'b', not both.

So will you level up from usage in Vs. mode or Adventure/Classic mode?

Oh well I'd tell you Vs mode but it would...Yes, I do see epicness in that idea.
So will you level up from usage in Vs. mode or Adventure/Classic mode?
OOOOOOOOOHHH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH I just got an illumination!!!! look.
It'd be awesome if at the beginning of the Adventure Mode (if its like the subspace emissary) you see all the characters in their first form. For example you'd see Link wearing his Skyloft clothes at the beginning of the adventure when Fi comes and tells him that the world beyond is in danger. Then he gets somehow his green clothes and dives to the underworld. Here you go, you got the green armor. I wouldnt want all the alternate costumes to be unlocked that easily because it would ruin the fun, just like what happened in Brawl where you could unlock in 2 hours almost every characters. One way to settle this would be to have a much longer Adventure mode than the last one, which was already long.
I really liked the Subspace Emissary, especially the story and how every character would join another and then form a big badas* gang that would own everybody. For the next one though, I'd like to see a story taking place in the characters world. For example, Link's story would start in Skyloft. You would actually get to play in Skyloft. Maybe that first stage would be about escaping from Groose who wants to capture you so you won't be part of the Final exam to become a certified academy knight, just like in the beginning of the game. When you reach the Goddess temple, Fi comes and tells you that the world beyond is in danger. Link would then dive to the underworld. Then you would jump to Peach's castle where Bowser is destroying everything. You, playing as Mario, would have to escort Peach and beat up everything that could be harmful for peach. When the level is cleared, you'll jump to an outer space level where you see the Great Fox being attacked by the Star Wolf team. It would be an epic fight and you'll get to play as Fox (I guess). Your task would be to get to your Arwing and to neutralize the Great Wolf. Throughout the level, you will be running in the Great Fox and beating the ennemies assaulting the ship. A great thing would be to cross some rooms with giant windows, allowing you to see all the space fight. That would be amazing. And you would have to pay attention to all the hazards (exploding machines etc. Maybe even an arwing crashing into the ship through one of these windows. On the other side, you could choose to play instead as Wolf, who will have to get on board of the Great Fox and to reach the internal computer of the ship and destroy it, then escape before it's too late. Your decisions would make the whole story change, giving many ending possibilities. When you'd clear the level, we'll jump to Samus' head quarters. General Malkovich would call Samus. The first part of the stage would be about getting to the general. Then, he would tell you that there's a huge space fight (Fox Vs Wolf) and would ask you to see what's happening and to settle the problem.
I think you got the whole point. I would personnaly like more if you had a longer personnal adventure with your character, you know, to introduce him properly, before seing every character meet each other and team up to destroy the main ennemy. That would really add to the story.

I like how you're thinking, but I think Link's part of the story should be more general, not Skyward Sword specific. I doubt they would use his SS model, anyway.
I hated the Subspace Emissary. I think you should have to fight full on enemies rather than the mooks, and if there are minions, they shouldn't be original, they should be from actual games.

Yeah I know I was just taking Skyward Sword as an example.I like how you're thinking, but I think Link's part of the story should be more general, not Skyward Sword specific. I doubt they would use his SS model, anyway.

And I can see why you didn't like the Subspace Emissary. At first I thought it was awesome, but now I see it could have been better.

I pretty much agree with this fully. Customizable movesets seem a bit much and it would be easy for the game to end up broken but the alternate costumes idea is fantastic.

Yeah I know the thing is really risky, but if it works, oh god...I pretty much agree with this fully. Customizable movesets seem a bit much and it would be easy for the game to end up broken but the alternate costumes idea is fantastic.
