"We aren't quite sure what this is, but it looks like some kind of charger or base for the Wii U controller. It would only make sense for this device to both cradle and charge your Wii U controller when not in use. Sounds like a pack-in to me! Thanks to Stewox for the heads up!"

I don't know about you guys, but I actually want this thing. I know some people find the one for the 3DS stupid or useless because the cable can connect to the 3DS. I like my 3DS dock because if there ever is a spill I know my 3DS will be safe. It is easier and faster to put the 3DS on the charging dock specially if the cable fell on the floor. Although the cable is better when playing and charging.

What are your thoughts on this, something you will use or leave in the box?

Another rumour: Most devs have no idea whats in the system, they cant open up their dev kits and they don't know what the OS on the Wii U is like.

Doesn't really matter to me how i charge i didn't think it was important to other people either but i guess my assumption wrong

its most probably a charger stand just like the 3ds , since 212 seem to look like parts of a charger and that button in the middle seems to be once it's pushed on 212 will pop out and charge the tablet device. It is confirmed that the tablet has a charger output on top(nintendo power) so the stand will be when your not charging it and playing, you charge it on the stand

Most of these gonintendo articles and WiiUDaily just take a GAF post and use that as an anonymous source. They lost all credibility from me.

Nollog, how did you get that Piranha Plant pic under your avatar , I want one too. It say's I'm a spiny, why can't I have a spiny pic lol?

BTW, I did searches on the patent database for like half an hour and couldn't find the diagram.
This means a few possibilities:
1. fake
2. nintendo patented it as something weird and nondescript.
3. something else.

Not only would l like this, it'd also allow for the trailer to make sense.

Remember when the two people were playing reversi, but the controller still remained flat on the ground? With the bulge on the back of the controller, this wouldn't be possible without the controller tilting... unless there was some kind of stand or support.



I see at least 2 other instances of this, as well.

Edit: I just realized that you can see the underside of the controller when the young woman is golfing. There doesn't appear to be a stand like this patent, but there is a small plastic part of some sort.

Well, I like the design of it. My 3DS can't use it's dock anymore because the pins don't connect and won't charge unless I stick the cleaning cloth under it.

It also shows that the controller is light.

So long that it uses a rechargeable battery I'm fine. Buying Duracell's and Energizer's is getting bothersome, even the rechargeable ones.

This stand will be handy, if that black strip proves to be a IR sensor bar.
