If the common consumer wouldn't understand why didn't Sony and Microsoft do it for the PS3 and Xbox 360 games. The only games that should have HD in the name should be HD remakes.

Because Microsoft and Sony entered the hd era with this gen unlike Nintendo who has taken two generations to do so.

though i do agree adding hd in titles is unnecessary

Nintendo won't call it Universe HD, that's Sony's style.
Nintendo will call it Pikmin 3

I like the Universe part but not the HD part. I doubt they would add that because it just doesn't seem Nintendo like, it is probably just Pikmin 3.

Dont like the name. We dont need Universe in ever Wii U game's name. Smash Bros Universe was the rumord name of Smash Bros on Wii U. And that sounds alot better then Pikmin Universe.

Wow, that's a nice rumour! It's a good enough change to feel different without it feeling like a totally different series, I like. I hope it's a launch title because it's the only 1st party game I know for sure I'm getting. The HD is a little redundant but I can live with it.
If this turns out to be false... Nintendo better have something good. xD

Honestly, it sounds like someone guessing but saying.its fact. I believr it will be true, but I could hsve tols you these things because they are.obvious. Its why Diablo 3 or Starcraft 2 make such a great fit for the Wii U. And I might actually play this pikman.

I just heard that pikman 2 is going to be a wii classic title. Selling for $20. This was from an email nintendo sent out. I didn't think it was a wii title. I've never played it. Should I?

My theory is because Pikmin didn't sell well on the GameCube and got ported to the Wii, I believe Nintendo wants to reinvigorate the franchise and is skipping the number 3 as a way to make the game unrelated to its predessecors. That way, new gamer won't skip out on it just because they missed the first 2 (I know I do that.)
