Gearbox: "We love the Wii U, very happy with it's tech"

“I love this platform. I’m very excited about it because it gives us a path to realise some things that are more future-looking than we could if we were only on the current generation. It’s up to Nintendo to talk about their specs and I must follow them. I’ve committed myself to honouring their confidentiality.” - Randy Pitchford
“It’s (Aliens: Colonial Mraines) going to look awesome! And it’s unbelievable how many things that exist in the Aliens’ franchise actually work for that controller. It’s been a real treat, quite frankly, because the controller and the features of the system enable us to do things we can’t do with the other consoles. We can always use more memory and rendering capability. I think that’s one of the most exciting things about the Wii U. Not only do you have the technology of what you can do gameplay wise but it will be one of the best looking versions of the game.” - Brian Cozzens
Very awesome!, Gearbox your making me love you .

I like this Randy Pitchford guy the more and more I hear him say. He loves what he does, and is enthusiastic about new consoles. I think I will buy his games now. Well played sir.
I agree with you to the very fullest buddy!
Now you're playing with power... U Power!

There is no way any sane developer is going to be negative about a console after commiting probably millions to developing on it. You have to factor that in and there is nothing in that statement that confirms the wii U has some fantastically powerful cpu or gpu.

Hope the game does well, Sega are in a terrible way with huge losses and there are reports that they may finish as a mainstream publisher for major consoles. It could be one of the last big Sega published titles.
There is no way any sane developer is going to be negative about a console after commiting probably millions to developing on it. You have to factor that in and there is nothing in that statement that confirms the wii U has some fantastically powerful cpu or gpu.
Previous statements from Gearbox have done a better job.
It also helps that anonymous developers keep slamming it. Generally, whenever companies slam something, either anonymously or on record (like Jack Tretton did with the 3DS) they're shaking in their boots.
The post above was certified to be simply smashing by the Wii U Forum Staff.

“We were early in seeing what was happening with the Wii U and we’ve been able to give some feedback. They’ve listened, and I think we’ll see some cool stuff that we’ve had some influence over. I think the final controller specs are going to be awesome.”

I didn't want to make a new thread, so here is another quote from Gearbox.
“We were early in seeing what was happening with the Wii U and we’ve been able to give some feedback. They’ve listened, and I think we’ll see some cool stuff that we’ve had some influence over. I think the final controller specs are going to be awesome.”
yep i just read that i wonder what they mean exactly?
i was under the assumption that the controller was an empty shell with a tiny chip in it.
i wonder if he means tech specs or actual new features that Nintendo has added to the controller.

controller specs?, you mean like the thing that streams/outputs video data and touch controls
i would not think the controller as anything else, but it may be more standalone than we think
