Is this developer speaking for the industry as a whole?

This guy rips into the Wii U without(he admitted) ever playing or developing for the console. But I believe his words say more than most would get. I believe this is the attitude lots of 3rd party publishers/developers feel or have. They want nintendo to fit in this box and just release a standard controller and increase the specs and be done with it. A lot of developers don't want to have to work hard at trying to think of creative ways to use gamepads and other unique ways of playing games. And they resent nintendo for bringing those things to the forefront. What do you guys think?

I'd like to see these people go up against Sony or Microsoft with the same criticisms they provide against Nintendo. Because really, Microsoft has delved far deeper into the casual market than Nintendo could have ever dreamed of while not even getting half of the violent bashing they do for much lesser reasons.
The fact is, if Nintendo charged for a P2P online service, made a console addon as poor and with as few good games as the Kinect, while spending three E3s in a row promoting dance games and virtual Disneylands, they would have been run out of the video game industry years ago.

This is unfortunately the mindset of a lot of gamers today. And, by nature, developers are also 90% of the time gamers.

This guy is a complete idiot. He has no idea what he's talking about. Almost everybody has said that the Gamepad is comfortable and that games make good use of it, like Mass Effect 3 for example. And he's stupid to think that the Gamepad is by default is actually wired to the system

His position was lead ui. That's user interface. He designs game controls, and here he is talking about how he can't even IMAGINE how to use the game pad to add value to games.
That's his job, and he flat out says he can't do it.
Judging by how he used a similar tone to condescend to the original wii, he likely said the same thing to THQ when they approached him as lead ui for wii games.
Wii is stupid, its controls suck, waggle, can't make real games for it, its a gimmick whose bubble is about to burst, the kiddy etc etc....
And they likely listened to him, and others, and ignored the wii, like most companies.
Then the wii turned Into a completely ridiculous success, and thq along with many other companies, was caught with their pants down.
Nintendo was pumping out 20 million sellers left and right. And they weren't big budget or super complicated. They were just good games.
Nintendo was holding a big bag of money, open.and ready to share with anyone who could figure out a way to reach in the bag and grab some.
But thq, like many other companies, completely squandered the oppurtunity. And by the time they pulled their pants up it was too late.
Now THQ is in trouble. SERIOUS trouble.
So much trouble they need to start sacking a 170+ employees just to stay afloat long enough to hopefully release a hit game to save their keisters.
Nintendo is coming out with a new system, with a unique new user interface, a situation JUST LIKE THE WII. THQ does NOT want to fail to grab something out of the giant moneybag this time. They want to put out SOMETHING, ANYTHING that could dip into that moneybag.
They gather their best men for the job, their lead user interface specialists, and ask them to use their skills to grab the money out of the wii u bag.
And he says wii u money is STUPID and for kiddies, And besides, he couldn't find a way to reach into the wii u money bag 'even if he really tried'.
At which point he basically volunteered to be laid off with the 170 people thq had to cut in favor of people who would work on ANY system thq needed them too.

its not nintendo fitting in a box its that nintendo is above the industry and the industry hates it ,,,they also blame nintendo for the existence of gaming consoles and there licence fees that go with that ,they also understand that nintendo is the most talented hardware/software conbined company on the planet
its hatred/its fear/its total lack of talent ,the industry wants us to play games on os devices on qwerty keyboards FOREVER AND EVER AND EVER never evolve never innovate never expand just the same endless movie obsesion by z list talented idiots who long to be in hollywood
movies and games are 2 seperate things who the hell whats a movie industry want to be making there games thats what happening this industry is full of failed idiots not game talented types im sick to the back teeth with the following BS
the script is hollywood worthy (its a game what has hollywood got to do with it)
its AAA tv show matching quality (again what twilight zone are you in this is a ga,me not a movie)
we used great acting talent (again industry you seem very confused i wanted to buy and play a game)
we tell the story thru are long winded game hogging cut scenes you cannot skid( so when i went to the store i purchosed a movie not a game)
and the whole time this nonsense is going on nintendo give us wii remotes gamepads balance boards wm plus ITS CLEAR WHO THE GAMING COMPANY IS
