So, I think that a third Fossil Fighters game for the Wii U is fairly likely. It's a successful series, and all it needs is a touch screen, which the Wii U has.
In case you don't know, Fossil Fighters is a turn based RPG series owned partially by Nintendo. In it, you excavate fossils, which you then clean and "revive" into a slightly altered form, which you use in battle against other fghters. It has been well received by critics and the public alike.
The mechanics and combat system are very solid and entertaining. If a third game is made, the biggest improvement that needs to be made is the library of creatures. It's not very comprehensive. In the first game they had a bunch of dinosaurs, pterosaurs, and a few Ice age mammals and aquatic reptiles. In Champions, they added a couple of Synapsids, some Trilobites, Ammonites, as well as Anomolocaris and Tanystropheus. This, isn't great. There is a LOT of potential they are ignoring. First off, they've got 1 iconic Cambrian animal, Anomolocaris. What about Opabinia? Hallucinagenia? Marella? Pterygotus? A crinoid? There is a lot of potential there. Furthermore they've all but ignored the Carboniferous period, which also has potential. Arthropleura and Meganeura come to mind. They added Dimetrodon and Edaphosaurus to represent Synapsids, which is a good start, but there is a lot of potential in the completely unrepresented Therapsid branch of Synapsids. Even within the Mesozoic, there are issues, mainly the complete lack of Ornithomimids and only 1 Icthyosaur.
Also, they need to get rid of those stupid abbreviated names. Put in the real Genus, would you?

If you would like to respond to this, or have ides of your own, please post.

Even though I've never played on I think it will probably end up on 3DS, if it ever gets made. The Wii U doesn't seem like a good fit for something like this, but what do I know.

Be wary, the suck is coming.

Watch some trailers, The wii U would be great for it.

I would totally be down for Fossil Fighter 3 being on the Wii U. I've playing Champions game and I like it a lot better with all the new updates to the battle system. I'm enjoying the new roister of dinosaurs, but a bit disappointed in the fact that only Ornithomimus is the only one of it's family in the game. What about Struthiomimus and even Gallimimus (seeing as Dilophosaurs had it's Jurassic Park Frill).  Also shocked that Rhamphorhynchus did make it as a new Pterosaur. I could list out a few more Dinos I would like to see but maybe later.

Besides more dinos maybe update your robot helper into cleaning Large and double sided fossils.

Maybe just putting in some vivosaurs form the first game, add some variety to their moves, make every vivosaur evolveable, and add some references from the first game, make sure all legendary vivosaurs are not so special that they are only available at Gamestop, throw in some updated graphics here and there, The two previous game's dig sites unlockable as well.... more memorable characters... and BAM! You get a best-selling game on the spot.
