If WiiU is region-free I would love Nintendo even more than I do now. It was cool how all of Nintendo's portables were region-free up to the DS. Never understood why they let their portables be region-free but not their consoles. Anyway I really hope they go the Sony route and make the console region-free, this way we have access to all games.

If Wii U is region free, I will wear an oversized FUBU shirt, spandex shorts, flip flops w/ socks, a cowboy hat, and goth makeup, all while doing the worm outside of a Walmart in Sir Aaron's home state of Alabama. Yes, I could possibly make this happen.

Digital downloads are also region locked on the Wii and 3DS so it wil most likely be the same on the Wii U. As to the main question of this thread considering that all of Nintendo's home consoles have been region locked so far and starting with the 3DS so have their portables I suspect so will the Wii U be.

I am from Israel and I am probably going to order wii u and a few games from video games plus and I will buy some of the games from my country.
Will anything in the console will be different because i will order it from canada or the region locking will effect anything in the games?
