Not sure if this has been mentioned. Apparently Amazon.com is offering a special deal if you preorder both the Wii U and 3DS versions together. You essentially get $20 off.

I am looking forward to this game and, although I didn't get Monster Hunter Tri on the Wii back in the day, I plan on picking up Ultimate on its launch day. I must admit, however, I am a bit disappointed that the online servers will be region locked.

Can somebody confirm or...how do I say that i english....unconfirm my previous post?

Its probably true. They simply transferred the bottom 3ds screen to the gamepad. It is, after all, a 3ds game.

Thanks, true but a bit cheap. All that focus for wiiU on the topscreen and no attention to the look and feel of the bottom one.

One would say that sticking a MH3 themed 16x9 jpeg on the background would make it feel less cheap than two black borders.

Im pretty sure this has been an always not buy for you, and the fact that using the gamepad for 3ds mode had nothing to do with it.

You are of course free to think however you wish. I however was very interested at first but with every new piece of information I have seen I have lost more and more interest. I like Monster Hunter but don't want to accept a second rate version of what it easily could be (at least not at full price).

Well, the background IS the mh3 jpeg (used on loading screens) Its not black borders, but its the same difference to me.

vnd.youtube:aPmhcziuy34?vndapp=youtube_mobile&vndclient=mv-google&vndel=watch

(wait for a screen where the 3ds bottom screen dissapears, and you better see the whole background).

I wont be using that mode as their is no point, i dont need touch screen camera controls and camera ai options because of the second analog stick, ill be using the classic controller for tge tv, and the gamepad only for offtv play while online.

How can you claim like monster hunyer when you very clearly dont know anything about it?

Monster hunter ultimate 3g ultimate om wii u is the top monster hunter experience available anywhere. Its the best graphics of any monster hunter game, has the most content of any monster hunter game, and is online.

There is no monster hunter out anywhere, or coming out in the future that can top that. (next game is mh4 on 3ds).

The ps3 game is an untouched upressed port of the psp game, which is a GRAPHICALLY DOWNGRADED version of the WII GAME MH tri with all the water areas (about half the game, as its water themed) cut out, and other content pit in to compensate.

The pc game monster hunter frontier STILL USES THE PS2 ERA GRAPHICS ENGINE AND ASSETS.

Anyone who actually knows ANYTHING aboit monster hunter knows capcom keeps production values at the lowest possible denominator possible, to ensure higher levels of content, to avoid A mistake called the 'tri syndrome', so named by angry fans after the original wii game mhtri, which had the highest production values of any monster hunter game ever, but a fraction of the content of other mainline titles.

Main platforms chronologically: Ps2 as opposed to more powerful gc and xbox, then switched to psp, as opposed to more powerful ps2, gc, and xbox, then switched to wii instead of 360/ps3, and then, the highest production value monster hunter ever made, is on the series new platform, 3ds.

The reason i cant believe you is because NO ONE who is familiar with monster hunter has your expectations, because as far as your ridiculous expectations go, the entire FRANCHISE is second rate....

Yet you claim you like monster hunter and would have gotten this one, the best looking monster hunter ever made, with the largest amount of content, with online added, if ONLY it wasnt second rate to nothing in existing or any practically possible monster hunter existance.

Can you please share a new link, this one is not working for me. I can only find this and that looks like big black borders to me. Also...Is there OffTV gameplay? I understood that MH3 didn't support that mode. http://n4g.com/news/...wii-u#c-6974264

Thats because the design is just so dark.

I remember that, but could have sworn ive seen videos of it running on the gamepad. After thinking about it, its probably the result of camera angle and someone playing multi with wii u on a 3dsxl.

Yes I do like Monster Hunter. Shock horror that someone doesn't agree with you, they must really have ulterior motives and really must not like the seires (rolls eyes). Or maybe I was hoping for more then we are getting in some departments and fell let down.

[edit: maybe the demo will change my mind, we shall see].

Just played my first every Monster hunter game(demo), my first thoughts are mixed but need time to get in depth with it.

Gameplay - not to bad and yes i died on the first monster lol.

Graphics - don't know why but was expecting better, looked nothing mega.

Sound - again nothing to write home about

Being the demo i can only judge it on what i see but i guess the full game will be massive

With all the hype i will be spending time on this. B)

after playing mh3 demo i must say i´m not impressed... like.. at all. The graphics are nice but not outstanding. Very bad textures on the mobs and monsters. The gameplay is obviously the same as before. I played the MH on Wii and it feels exactly the same. I´m glad i tried the demo. I can see why people like it but in the end, it´s just not for me.

It has nothing to do with opinions, it has to do with common sense and pattern recognition.

There has NEVER been a monster hunter that has met what you expected out of this game.

People who like the series, DONT HAVE THOSE EXPECTATIONS, those have those expectations, dont stick with the series.

You might like screens of monster hunter, you might think you like the concept of monster hunter, or the idea of monster hunter. But its just very very apparant you dont like monster hunter from actually PLAYING monster hunter. Which is why you think it should be something its simply not.

I played the 3DS demo and even that feels noticeably smoother than Tri. I'd expect it to be even better with the Wii U version.

tried it and i've still got all the same problems with the whole game mechanics as i've always had the graphics are not really what i'd call pretty underwhelmed a bit.

wii u premium, new super mario bros u, darksiders 2, call of duty black ops 2, zombiu

blue 3ds xl, resident evil revelations, zelda ocarina of time

ha, it sounds like you are playing a monster hunter game or something.

The only thing i can say to people who just dont like the mechanics in monster hunter, is try being a gunner. Its basically a mage class in mh.
