DSi XL, 3DS XL...Wii U XL?

Obviously it's a home console and not a Portable but would a Wii U XL be a possibility based on Nintendo's past?

If your confused at the XL part then the GamePad could get a size increase, meaning the screen increasing from 6.2 Inches to ... (8.9? 9.4? 10.6?), AND if it did get a screen increase in size could the resolution even be bumped up to 720p?

I think it's kinda stupid but in the future, (Certainly not as quick as the 3DS to 3DS XL one year, 4 months later!), like 2014 or 2015 do you think it's possible?

I can see your line of thinking, but I'm not sure what the point would be. The GamePad is already a somewhat large size, but making it larger wouldn't be good. Plus, making the resolution in the GamePad higher would put even more wear on the system itself.

LOL Me and my friend were on the phone last night joking about the exact same idea ! But yea, I imagine it would be possible but I don't think they'd ever go through with that idea

I don't think so because with a 3DS the whole thing is the console, but with a home console with a tv it may be kind of wierd on your hands making the controller any bigger than it already is.

The Gamepad is about as big as you would want it to be. I would never want anything any bigger, and I'm willing to bet a lot of people feel similarly to me.

Yeah, Nintendo has a history of redesigning Handhelds.. but...the only two systems to ever get a make over were the NES and SNES...dont see it happening.

I could see some people perhaps wanting a smaller controller, that would be possible.

I don't think it will happen though as it risks making games unplayable that assume they have a certain sized area for you to press on the screen.

Although, I wonder if they would shrink the border around the touch screen at some point? It seems like pressing icons on the screen would be easier if the border was smaller.

I really doubt it will happen. The controller seems fine as it is already. There really is no point in making the controller bigger, it would be a waste of time and money. Honestly how would making it bigger than what it already is be better?

Oh Gawd I hope not... the idea of this is rather funny though. "Gamepad XL" will be used as a secondary TV in the future for your regular gamepad when your TV is in use. Genius.

lol! But i always think they waste space with the screens on these things. They could make the screen bigger if they cut out that plastic on the edges.




I understand that they want it to be comfortable for you to press the buttons, but there is so much wasted space there.
