Because of the fact that EA is forcing their service down people's throats. I don't really care since I have an origin account already.

Cool i guess. Its not a big change for me since i have a ps3 and just under half my games are ea.
But this does mean that the wii u is stepping out of the stone age of the wii.

that's a bit of a stretch. ID stands for Identification. Could easily be friendcodes.
I have an origin account, how will they handle existing accounts?
EA would of said friend code instead of Nintendo ID. They know more than us.

This doesn't really affect me since I don't play many sports games and EA's current franchises don't interest me. The only EA game I own is NBA Jam on Wii.

Why?
A Nintendo Network ID is a friend code.
Nintendo knows how dumb it was to include friend codes on the Wii, NDS and 3DS. If they STILL use them as a form of adding friends, they can say goodbye to a chunk of their Wii U sales. (AKA the people who were hoping to use the Wii U as their next-gen system w/ great online overall)
