It seems a majority of reveiwers have nothing great to say about the Wii U. Im hear to say they are very biased right now. I got my Wii U and most of the problems people are talking about are real minor or not too notacable. Such as people complaining about the touchscreens response time which was perfectly fine.So it leads me to think people are just hating. What do you think?

Mine works perfectly fine, and, yes, people are being overly critical. I had a launch party yesterday, and nothing could stop my friends and I from having fun. Don't worry about the negatives, every console has bugs, that's just the industry being the industry. Nintendo hate has gone on for years, it's nothing new. However, there are always going to be more lovers than haters. Cheers to the big N!

One of the more legitimate complaints, at least from what I've read, is the speed. I mean, they've basically sold this out as the next gen console...

Why is the speed suffering so much? That alone is enough to make me doubt that the Wii U will override it's current competition.

There's no doubt everyone want's menus to work instantly but they are overexagerating by a lot seven seconds max on the menus at least on mine. Usually takes two ta three.

It's not an over-exaggeration, I count "one mississippi", up to 12-13 and it finally loads. Want a video?

15 seconds from when I tap System Settings until it appears.
22 seconds from when I hit Back from System Settings, til when its finished loading my icons. That's ridiculously slow, and its consistently this slow.

Daily Log took 13 seconds.

Here's a video I made showing just how slow the menus are:

The worst I've had so far is the wii verse and that I would assume is from going online which took mine seven seconds other than that it's been 2-3 max for all of my other menus excluding wii channel haven't bothered with it yet. If yours isn't working good I feel bad for you and hope it an update works the kinks out. But i don't need a video to tell me mine works at an acceptable level, if it upsets you that much want a cookie......sorry couldn't resist.

Watch the video I made - are you telling me you can get into System Settings in 2 to 3 seconds? And when you hit back it's also 2-3 seconds? If so yes that upsets me because it means my Wii U has some problems.

I wonder if the update could have possibly glitches your system a little bit it was four gigs I think right? I imagine just a little bit of corruption could cause trouble and with the time it takes to Down load four gigs I would imagine it could get a little code messed up. Sad part is I thought ahead and asked best buy if they had or would sell disks for the download but nope. Would have been nice. Hopefully the next update will get yours back up to speed.

Yeah I'm not joking I don't have a way to make a video or I'd show you, that's why when I hear people complaint I thought they were just whining about a few seconds, is it possible to do the download again? If your data is slightly corrupted matey it would fix any issues your having. The amount of traffic the server had is probably what messed up a lot of wiiu's.

But you didn't do the update yet right? Perhaps its some bug in the update then. I didn't even use my system prior to the update, it did the update pretty much immediately.

And btw there's no option to redownload/reapply the update.

I updated mine when I got it so I didn't get to test it before the update either as for no way to redo the the up date that stinks. There supposed to have multiple updates through to December all the net Felix wii tv stuff, with the trouble there having there's a good chance an update will be in one of those to fix it, so I'd say either ask for a replacement if possible or wait for the update. Also there may be a way to redo the up date but not sure if the wiiu has the feature if you can what's the word erase everything(sorry not a techy type of guy) like you do when trading in the system it may remove the update as wellbut you would lose all your other stuff to and there's no guaranty it would redo the update right or that it was the update.... I'd say best bet is to call Nintendo report the problem matey they'll tell you when they will fix it or they will replace it.
