I know, but I'm assuming Nintendo will eventually throw something official later in there as a patch. I guess it wasn't ready for launch and they didn't want to mention anything waiting for fans opinions with Miiverse and such.I honestly still don't understand why Nintendo didn't add an achievement system. It would've worked so well in the MiiVerse.

So the U Play app for Wii U isn't out yet (as of this post that is) but it's already getting talked about on a number of blogs. Here are a few pictures of what you can expect once it's released (possibly tomorrow for free) on the eShop.

They explained it at E3 a few years back saying that Wii stood for "We" since the remotes and system were designed for multiple persons to enjoy games at the same time.
U stand for "You" and a refocusing of the single player experience, hence why there is only one Gamepad, which even in multiplayer settings highlights asymmetrical gameplay; a fancy word for gaming experiences where one player is having a different experience than those around them.

I wish Ubisoft and Nintendo would partner and make this the official Nintendo Trophy system.
I agree with this. I mean, to me, an achievement system isn't 100% necvessary, I got kind of tired of the Achievements on the 360 pretty quick. But if they're going to have Achievements at all, they might as well partner with Nintendo and just have them across all games.
We knew it would only be developer-specific achievements, not through Nintendo... but I hope this doesn't turn into having 7 different apps on the Wii U to track achievables from all different games on the Wii U.
