So I was reading a post by Dark Link and i saw his sig and it was about metal so I clicked the Link and it I saw this on their forum and we just need this here... It would be amazing and I would personally kiss you right on the face if you made this possible here :3

If you can find a willing programer or convince Feldo, it's possible to happen. It takes time to program this stuff and there might be some possible legal issues if the games are emulated if not flash/java remakes.

That would be pretty cool. A little arcade with game tournaments and leaderboards, sounds cool to me. Obviously we'd need permission from a programer, or find one. Plus we'd need to make sure there's no legal and copyright problems like Mournblade stated.

Well first thing you should do is become a member on his pony forum... wrack up a ton of posts and become a well respected memeber of the pony community, then ask Feld0 if he will make the arcade for the pony forum... he will say yes and then we can all ask him if he will just make one for us too... the plan is fool proof, I suggest you begin right away, as it is a tad time consuming

While you say that in jest, there is actually an easier way, send him and AMAC a message. You may not get a responce immediately but someone may try to address it. I got into contact with Feld0 by messaging him, thats how I became a writer. Just try and it could land some results.

I'd be happy for the forum to have some arcade games, although as I normally access the forum through my iPad, I wouldn't get much use out of it. The main issues with this idea is that I would struggle to add any games to the forum; Feld0 would probably have to do it and that doing so would probably take up a lot of time. As he would be doing the bulk of the work for this, it would largely be up to Feld0 whether he wants to implement this.

Feld0 keeps saying he wants the forum to just be a forum, he dislikes the chat for the same reason I'd imagine he'd never do this.

Also, forums with games usually end up over-run with idiots, and also lose actual activity.

While I ran the Affxtion forums, I set up an arcade section in the forums, so if this is something that is desired and approved, I can set one up here as well (we used the same host as these forums). However, that being said, we ended up taking it down. There were legal issues that came along with using popular old school arcade titles. I can see smaller forums being able to avoid this issue, but for any forum with a larger community or in partnership with a larger community (as was such with Affxtion), I would avoid it.

Another thing to consider is what Nollog said. I would rather encourage online multiplayer with forum members, or competition with games we already own before encouraging competition with something possibly present on the site.

An arcade would necessitate an additional staff commitment to maintain properly, and to top off, isn't something I really see being all that beneficial to the goal of TheWiiU.com to be a discussion forum. In a time when the staff power around here seems to be going missing in action, it's not a terribly smart idea to add additional burdens when the existing responsibilities aren't being attended to properly.
