Specifically in the Wii U hardware forum, I won't point out any names. I feel something needs to be done about them, I feel like sometimes the mods aren't doing their job (don't get me wrong guys, you're fantastic!), BUT you could do so much better. Not giving these members a punishment makes them think they could get away with trolling, so they'll do it again. I also noticed some older members are blatantly going into PS4/720 topics and trying to provoke a flame war between members (again not mentioning names), I feel that the moderators should do something as well. These juvenile actions must stop, it makes the site look bad.

If I'm wrong and these members have already been punished/warned, well then disregard this topic.

It pretty much exclusive to the Wii U hardware forum, it's a war over there.

Is there no social rating system to help the mods out? At my old forum I had a system where members ananomously could rate a members post by + or - . The gamification part made it so that people started to climb in ranks. It contributed to being a very social place.

I saw some 'like' functions here but that only one way. I used it already many times but don't see what it does for the member who's getting it.

I had special badges and ranknames for the top contributirs.

It's not only him, it's actual users that frequently visit this site. They go into threads and post nonconstructive spam against the competition. I've been noticing this for weeks.

Yeah I hadn't read that part when I replied. My reply was just at the title.
There have been a great many silly posts from some users since they joined.
I don't usually report them because they're usually harmless, but to sonydrones I can see how they might incite responses.

They have likes. Which you can like on people's posts. So far only like two people have more likes than posts.

The problem is most trolls don't realize they are trolls, thus its a problem that will exist as long as the internet does. I hate trolls as much as the next guy, but I give up on complaining since soon as we get rid of one, we know more will spawn. They are like Gremlins, except you can't feed them at any time of day.

I check this site quite often and spend a lot of time here, but I'm not always aware of some of what goes on. Sometimes I can catch things when I look at the new topics created and etc, sometimes not.
If you report a post, we will check it. Whether it is a troll post/topic, someone attempting to start up some drama, someone being juvenile, etc; we will look over it.

I am also open to PMs, if you feel something is wrong or want to be sure that we will act on it.

IPBoards is capable of this, but if I remember correctly, feldo isn't too fond of this sort of system.

As Mournblade said, we try our best to look over as much of the Forum as possible. However, we can't be in every thread at once. If you see something that you feel is trolling, or attempting to start a flame war, we advise that you report it so we can take a closer look at it. If there's something you need to speak to us about with personally, feel free to PM one of us.

However, I would also like to add that you shouldn't take every off-hand, silly comment as an attempt to troll or start a flame war. Sometimes people simply want to crack a non-serious joke, share a laugh. I myself have taken several jabs at Sony's expense on this forum. Does that mean I hate the PlayStation brand? Heck no. I've been playing PlayStation since I've been old enough to hold a controller, and if I pick up a next-gen console other than the Wii U it will probably be the PS4. There's a difference between a light-heard forum post and an attempt at trolling.

Oh no, I can handle jokes (I'm always joking in chat), but some users aren't joking. Every post I see from them doesn't contribute to the thread.

I'll be sure to report them more often though.
