CAPCOM CONFIRMS RESIDENT EVIL™ REVELATIONS FOR HOME CONSOLE RELEASE IN MAY 2013

London, UK. — January 22nd, 2013 — Capcom, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today confirmed that Resident Evil™ Revelations will release at retail for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft®, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, Windows® PC and Nintendo’s Wii U™ console across North America on May 21st and Europe on May 24th 2013. The title will also be available to download digitally from the same dates on PlayStation®3 for €49.99 and Windows®PC for €39.99 with details on digital versions for Xbox 360® and Nintendo’s Wii U™ console to follow.

Complete with high quality HD visuals, enhanced lighting effects and an immersive sound experience, the fear that was originally brought to players in Resident Evil Revelations on the Nintendo 3DS™ system returns redefined for home consoles. Furthermore, the home console version will deliver additional content including a terrifying new enemy, extra difficulty mode and improvements to Raid Mode such as new weapons, skill sets and the opportunity to play as Hunk and other characters from the series. Raid Mode, which was first introduced to the series in the original version of Resident Evil Revelations, sees gamers play online in co-op mode or alone in single player, taking on the hordes of enemies across a variety of missions whilst levelling up characters and earning weapon upgrades.

The critically acclaimed survival horror title takes players back to the events that took place between Resident Evil™ 4 and Resident Evil™ 5 and reveals the truth about the T-Abyss virus. Resident Evil Revelations features series favourites Jill Valentine and Chris Redfield, plus respective BSAA partners – Parker Luciani and Jessica Sherawat. The action begins on board a supposedly abandoned cruise ship, the ‘Queen Zenobia’, where horrors lurk around every corner, before players head for the mainland and the devastated city of Terragrigia. With limited ammo and weapons available the race is on to survive the horror of Resident Evil Revelations.

Resident Evil Revelations will take full advantage of Residentevil.net with content available to users once the game launches. Players can pre-register on the service from January 24th to gain early access to Resident Evil Revelations themed content with further information about online events to be revealed closer to launch.

Sigh. It should of been a 3DS exclusive. Oh well, at least it's coming to the Wii U.

Scumbag Capcom. Let's just hope that Ubisoft won't do this with Rayman Legends.

Have this on 3DS, but I'll bite again for the Wii U version.

Not sure what you're problem is. Why should it stay exclusive to the 3DS. I didn't buy it for the 3DS as after playing the demo I decided its not a game suited to a portable console and should really have been released on a home console. I'm glad they're releasing it for the home consoles as it now gives me an opportunity to play it. I honestly don't know why there is so much hate for an announcement like this.

Even though I own this on 3DS, I haven't been able to put a lot of time into it. I've put maybe 2-3 hours into the game, but it's pretty good so far. Many who have played it seem to hold it higher than 5&6 and say it has more of the classic survival horror traits you'd expect from the series. From what I've played so far, I agree with this sentiment.

As far as Capcom porting this to other systems, no one should be surprised at all. If they can port a game to a calculator, they'll do it. I remember when Resident Evil 4 was exclusive to Gamecube and we see how that turned out...

I have to disagree, i thought the use of the 3D was perfect and added to the horror element that made RE famous. Plus being portable i could sit in a dark room/lay in bed and play in the dark, use headphones and get fully immersed into the game. The console version will lack this feeling and it will feel like the other RE games "action" based.

In a way its good that people who havent gotten a chance to play it will now get a chance.

If the Wii U version has off-TV play, you'll be good to go. ;)

Played and reallly liked it on 3ds, still might be my portable game of the year tied with gravity rush. I actually liked this better than RE6.
As much as i would like to play this on the wiiu with better graphics and the cool gamepad, i just dont know if $50 is worth a game i already beat for $40 on a handheld.
I need something more like....an extra 2 hours of story mode, or something.
For those who don't own a 3ds or never played, I recommend trying this.

Why shouldnt it? Many people enjoy having a really good exclusive game on one of their favourite consoles. Plus, what's the point in anyone releasing exclusives if, a year or so later, they decide to release it on every other console just because it was popular.

How would it feel action based? They would have to change the entire game then. The Wii U version is going to be the best version though, cause it will have the touch screen inventory.

I think third-party exclusives are becoming more and more rare. When more than one console on the market has a large and respectable install base, it's really difficult for a publisher/developer to justify not putting their game on multiple platforms. If there's an opportunity to bring in even more money, they'll do it.

It seems cheap on Nintendo to release something that orginally was exclusive to one of their consoles.

I disagree. As much as the 3D may have added to the game I much rather play the game on a big screen with a regular controller. It will likely have just as good an experience if not better.

It should because exclusives are not a good thing and restrict who gets to play certain games. Games should be on as many platforms as possible within reason regards suitability so that as many people as possible can play them. Saying the game needs to stay exclusive is a selfish and eliteist attitude.

What's Nintendo got to do with it. Its not their game and not their decision to make. Its a Capcom game so they decide what they release the game on.

Sorry for double post...

Those are just my own personal feelings about the 3DS. I dont expect anyone to agree with me or change anyones opinion. I just feel that the 3D adds different level of "mind tricks" to make it seem you are there that wont be possible on a home console.

I should of worded that better about "action" game. To me the 3D effect made the game scary, without that i think it would feel like the others who went the action route.
