Seems extremely odd they would announce a new console when The Last of Us isn't out yet and considering what they said about XBOX Live. I hope they impress.

just read this. Should be interesting, however it could end up just being about vita and ps3 software, ala going the Nintendo direct method of making an event of announcements vs waiting for E3. this way, when E3 comes, they can use all their time for ps4.

But for hype, i hope it is about ps4

That's insane. If it is $800, it'd be extremely unpopular. The Wii U was $350 and that was a big deal for me to get it. Even $600 is pretty rediculous.
Regardless, I'm not getting PS4, even if it was $200. I'm an Xbox/Nintendo person
I feel Microsoft would blow me away more than Sony. Plus Sony is ridiculous with initial pricing, too.

But if there was a price drop with PS Vita I might look into getting one. Maybe. Probably not, though :3

If the specs rumored are true and this appears before the next xbox then I will buy this day 1.Also although KAz hirai said they would make a move after ms his hand may have been forced by other factors.The specs look good now they might not in 15 months I think they realise they have to get it out the door asap.I had said I wouldnt go back to ps after the hacking debacle but I may be willing to overlook that.I will purchase whichever console comes out next irrespective of if its ms or sony.I also think this is defo the ps4 announcement as the last two like this were vita/ps3.
