I think the main problem with making a game about Superman is the fact that he's pretty much invincible.
That's not a problem when you put him in the right setting with the right circumstances and enemies.
The problem with superman traditionally isn't superman himself or his powers. It is the blatant stupidity if putting this epic superhero of galactic proportions against some bald guy. Seriously. Stupid.
I can see how it could work occasionally. But superman is meant to done in an epic scale. Like lord of the rings epic. Guys like darkseid ate what superman is made for. Epic proportions. Not a bash Arkhaasylumm game with superman in it.
Rather a game that skirts the two. One that presents investigative and secretive challenges for the Clark kent side of things that lead to epic, grand scale shock and awe that are "a job for superman."
Thats why no one has problems with green lantern (other than the lane 360 game or Ryan Reynolds movie. He has huge powers. But he's given this epic scale to use them in.
Superman isn't the problem. It's the ridiculousness of tiring him to metropolis all the time and retreading the same rather lame "bad guy."
Give him a metropolis "home base," people to love that keeps him vulnerable, and a grand scale of epic propel rations that actually explore and challenge the king of superheroes to the limit.
If ever there was a game waiting to be made that would be fun exploring the possibilities. This would be it. But it's going to take imagination, formula, story, and creativity. But by people who also just simply know how to make a good game.
Even Arkhaasylumm city itself could lend itself to a superman, though it would be a stretch. The scanner in place of X-ray, the bat cable in place of flight, the various time challenges, etc. instead of phones, super-hearing, etc.
It's just that. I Ine ever gives superman the thoughtfulness required.
Hers hoping the new movie reinvigorates interest in the king of super Heros.
