I'm not talking about Pokemon Stadium or anything like that.
I mean a Pokemon RPG game.
Basically like The portable game versions, but on the console and in HD!
I am not bashing Nintendo at all, so I dunno their reasons and what not.

But doesn't the idea of being able to walk around in a HUGE game world full of pokemon and characters?
Basically like Skyrim but Pokemon.
Even online play!
Maybe it's too advance to do something like this yet?
I just know rumors always get around about a game like this and I would like to see it realized one day!
Nintendo holds the rights to Pokemon so they can only make the games.
If Microsoft could do it, then let them... Maybe.... Microsoft might mess it up.

Because all the main Pokemon titles are for the handheld. on consoles you get spin-offs.

Game freak has said they never want to do a console main series game. They want you to bring it around and trade with people.

mmorpg with pokemon would be cool. you could pick your reagions so you get the pokemon you want and battle pple. tournaments, safari zone, and pokemon running around so no grass battles, big character customization mode with a lot of features, some way to make money besides battles and quests, breed pokemon, build a house/ farm/ pokemon santuary and have to maintain it, night /day/weather to play a role in everything, big ocean to surf and explore. be able to fish, play the card game, ride a bike, ride pokemon, voice command for those who want it switched on. theres a lot of thing they could do and if they implemented these then i would get it :)

Speaking of which, I read this article today.

http://wiiudaily.com...mon-scramble-u/

It is only in Japan right now, but who knows. It may come here. Make what you want of this information. I know very little about anything do with this series.

I believe that Pokemon was built on the fact that players could interact with each other, regardless of location.

Trophy Cards are classy too! LOLZIGZAGOON

It would cost a lot more resources to develop, I think that's the primary reason.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

I think the central idea is that Pokemon is a game you can bring with you everywhere hence it's name as "Pocket monsters." Game Freak or Nintendo probably just want to retain its original identity by keeping the mainline games on the handhelds.

Nowadays, with online and all, I suppose it's very possible a mainline game can work on consoles. It would just require more resources as I'd imagine the game would be huge (though it doesn't have to). Game Freak is also a pretty small team I believe, so they'd require additional support. The fact that the portable versions sell so well and are probably easier to make, make designing a mainline game on the console an unattractive decision I think

A full blown Pokemon RPG on consoles would make wayyyyyyyyyyy more money than it would cost, it would literally sell thousands and thousands of Wii Us just to people buying it for pokemon, who would then buy other games and so on. It would single-handedly save the Wii U. Don't give me this "want it stay portable" carp, why should it stay portable? It would work perfect on a console and its just lazyness holding it back IMO.

I think it's because of the poor sales figures and reviews of Pokemon Colosseum and XD. Also, Pokemon was DESIGNED around handhelds.

If you really want a Pokemon RPG, just get a 3DS. They are good ^_^

I've heard this before, you're looking at it the wrong way. The whole 'Pocket Monsters' thing is in reference to the Pokemon story itself not the platform it is for. In Pokemon the pokeballs fit in the trainer's pocket/are pocket sized, hence them being called Pocket Monsters.

This statement is false. The previous statement is true.

RIP in peace Nintendo.

i agree, I mean, 90% of the people I know bought DS's JUST for Pokemon. My school is nuts for Pokemon, no idea how or why, but literally everyone plays it, even the teachers. If this were to happen everyone in my school would get a wii u.

I was once known here as KillerMario, but since I really like Banjo-Kazooie, I changed my display name to show them my respect :)

Really? I thought it refferenced to the fact that well, the game is on a portable (pocket) platform.
