#184793 If you were the boss of Nintendo, how would you reply to this letter?

Posted by Bane on 21 March 2013 - 02:29 AM

Im 34 yrs old and ive always had nintendo, ive never owned any other brand. I do play xbox, and ps3 but as a buisness you guys at nintendo will always get my vote for inovation and the most amazing gameing moments ever and for that, i think of nintendo as an old friend. So i hope as friends you can be honest with me :) i loved the wii, even my friends love it (galaxy, no more heros, wii sports especialy), but as a gamer i wasnt buying anything like what my friend were, (i refused to by cheap mini games) every week they had a new game, so when you anounced wiiu with HD graphics and the controler i thought "finaly", then you showed a list of games and i was hooked, ive never played battlefield and when i saw it listed i was sold. (Now before anyone says its craap, i want to judge it for myself, thats what makes games great, wanting it, then playing it at home) Ive heard its bin canned, but ive just spent, $350 on wiiu. Now as friends, and you are, please tell me if this is gonna happen a lot, i love wii u but im a gamer and ive also got to buy a bluray player as my old one broke so its very expensive. I respect you guys always but what should i do? If there are some amazing cross platform games coming, and all the big devs are going to support wiiu, then cool as i get the best of both worlds, but honestly, in a year im i going to be walking in the game shop with my friends and walking out empty handed again? If so maybe this generation i should go elsewheere? im not rich and i cant have 2 consoles. I will never abandon nintendo and i love my 3ds, but i need a blu ray and i need to know if im gonna get the software you promised and the range, its perfectly ok if you guys took a gamble and it didnt pay off, i love that about nintendo and thats why you know you can pull off the ultimate console, i hope the wii u is it, but hey, if it aint, so what, but as friends, just let me know. Thanks guys x

Hello,

First, I would like to thank you of your support for Nintnedo. And I fully understand your concern for the Wii U console. All I can ask is to please be patient. More games will come. Just give it time. We at Nintendo are doing everything we can to make sure that every Wii U console purchase is worth the investment.

Sincerely,

Satoru Iwata

CEO of Nintendo.

#116201 How long until nintendo reveal a new gamepad mini?

Posted by Demon on 09 October 2012 - 11:29 AM

The tech available im sure would make it possible to make a smaller pad with the same screen. It almost reminds me of my old atari lynx mk 1 ! Which a few yrs later was made smaller. ( the lynx was an old hand held console by atari which unfortunatly never took off) I love the gamepad but i hope nintendo dont gives us better smallerpad a year down the road.

Although nintendo could probably make a smaller one i don't see it happening because they clearly said that they are making sure that the gamepad is comfortable and ergonomic, i can't see how a smaller gamepad will be ergonomic. It's almost like the 3ds, where the original one was really uncomfortable because it was small, whereas the xl one was extremely comfortable because of it's larger size.

#111943 the wii u shouldnt be compared to any other console as thats what nintendo wa...

Lol I got my family looking at Wii U as well for themselves. It offers so much for cheap.

I can't wait to see people's faces when the PS4's price is announced. We all know how that's gonna be.

#100928 Im very very happy with the wii u's game graphics

really, thats unsuprising
even still you need competition for 3rd party support, so hold tight to the hype train

#79767 i need 2 questions about wii u answered before i commit to a day one purchase.

Lol i love that last statement im a nintendo boy through n through, i have a 360 to play other games but im certainly not a cod fan boy, also just because i dont know what chips or what processer is what doesnt mean im not a true gamer! I bet u watch tv but u dont know whats inside! Yes id like to know more but i kinda trust nintendo to do all that tech stuff for me so i dont have to worry.

That's more like it. Explaining your situation always works, with me, you can know I won't have a bad response.

My personal opinion is not forced upon anyone, I just share it alongside because I have been challenged/questioned. You need to take into the account that i have stated "looks like it" - that is just a speculative comparrison - so no, I have not made any 100% accusations of you being a COD fanboy, neither i was going to post that side in the first place, but I had to.

I haven't had it in the plan originally, but It turned out good, you have passed the test, you are not a COD fanboy, if you were, you would have responded violently instead you found amusement in it, which I salute. The comment on the invading demographies (eg. PS360 people shifting to WiiU) is simply my opinion and has nothing to do with you since I cannot have known anything about you.

My opinion stands because I do not want nintnedo to start making modern-warfares because there might be so many people crying about it when they come to WiiU ... nintnedo is strong and i have faight they will not cater into these bad trends,  those are my biggest fears that the console might be infested with crazy kids who scream on VOIP for every other headshot - but i know i won't be much playing MP to listen to those. My fears are that those demographies will damage the strong nintendo community and weaken it, you don't want a community that is split into sectors, that confuses the company, okay, it's already split into hardcore and casual, but we can coexist peacefully, I do not think PS360 demographic will be able to coexist peacefully with the established nintnedo community. The invading demographic might blame nintnedo just because of their past experience for something nintnedo is not guilty or responsible about, this is not the first time this happened.

For other users it is important to understand my writting, and how I form posts, I change it fast, part of the statements are fact, parts of it are subjective opinions, I do not have to be responsible if they're understood the wrong way, but I am gladly provide further explanation and clear any misunderstanding for anyone that asks without negative or rude manner on his part. As a conclusion the down is my COD experience, do not take it as a part of this core post, it's just what I write alongside, it could be posted separately, it is subjective opinion. I just talk a lot and combine stuff when I form my posts, I make line breaks to notify this, sometimes where it's more important i make several empty lines to notify something completely different in the discussion.

Speaking of COD - I was a heavy cod player in the early days, COD1 , COD2 and COD4. Though, what I mean with COD, is the new milking modern-warfare stuff, I do not bash the whole franchise, but this recent years have been all about cashing in on the popularity of gameplay that has disappeared from the competitive radar, I do not have the problem with it as in it-self, I have a problem with it because it is affecting every other developer out there and it's making the whole industry to go into that trend, only a few companies have stood true to their creative grounds, and that is, nintendo, relic, blizzard, and petroglyph ...etc there might be more viable companies that I cannot recall right now at this moment.

#69442 Is it MAYBE time to bring some fresh ideas to nintendo HQ?

Posted by Deadly Virus on 04 April 2012 - 10:36 AM

They don't need fresh ideas, they rather need to return to their old ones. What people don't realise is that Nintendo is fully capable of making amazing hardware and graphics. Anyone who owned a SNES, N64 or GameCube knows that Nintendo was once the king of good hardware on consoles. I think they kind of went astray when the Wii was released, and unfortunately I don't see many signs of that changing with the Wii U. I just hope that they have the sense to make a powerful enough machine to stand up to their competitors this time.

#27156 Nintendo please dont rush the wii u out!

Posted by Hank Hill on 09 September 2011 - 07:27 AM

What with the news that Nintendo are struggling to get the final hardware together in time for developers to create games on, should WE ( the nintendo fans ) beg nintendo to come out and say, " we need more time "? I would rather wait another 6 months or a year for ninty to go away, and get this right. Tech would get cheeper so the chips inside would be better and that would be much better for all of us surely. Lets all just stick with our wii's and 3ds's until the godfathers of gaming give us and the developers the kick ass console we all want!

And by news, you mean o1.net rumors, right?
