#24674 Wii U Hard drive

Posted by Bill Cipher on 28 August 2011 - 03:44 PM

'Cheap Hardware' and 'Low Pricing' are two completely different things. You didn't really clarify which you meant.

Nintendo sold the Gamecube at a loss, and the N64's cartridges were much more expensive than disks (Though a lot faster). Sony has NEVER been graphic heavy until the PS3; The PS2 was hyped to be powerful, but most of the price probably went to the DvD player.

For all we know, Nintendo could return to strong hardware for the WiiU, and PS4 could be a PS3 with a faster blu-ray. Not saying it WILL happen, but you never know.

Valid Point. I fully admit I was wrong in my statements

I really want a hard drive!! Whats the diffrence between an SSD and a hard drive??

Kind of wrong section to ask it in, but I'll answer anyways.
Easiest way to describe Solid State Drives (SSD) is that SSD's havve Data that can be reached with no issues. Regular Hard Drives have to spin to get the data. If you  want something to be ready the moment you finish booting up your PC, you  want a SSD. Most computers tend to have regular Hard drives. Also, Solid state is a lot more expensive for smaller amounts. An 30 GB Internal SSD runs you around $70, where you can get a 1 TerraByte hard drive for roughly that same cost.

I also hope Nintendo change to USB 3.0 instead of 2.0 because the data transfer rate is so much faster, if they do not it will be a con for the wii u user.

USB 3.0 is faster, but let me ask a question. Name one basic consumer who can tell you the difference between USB 2.0 and USB 3.0. It will take a while to catch on with the public, and only then will Nintendo probably add it into their own consoles

#23358 Super Mario 3D Land

"Super Mario 64" is even less creative than "Super Mario 3D Land". How many other games are there that were just called "<series name> 64"?

A lot. Anyways, I'll always just call this game "A Super Mario Tail".

#23315 Will the WII U have a brand new sensor bar?

There is "one" good game:

http://kotaku.com/58...xbox-360-kinect

I meant Original game :P

Lord N is the N in your name for negative? Atech giant like nintendo would be able to improve and add to the old standard sensor easily, they already said it wouldnt be cheap, and im not expecting a freekin lazer show from it, i mearly think they wouldnt want to let microsoft be the king of motion control as nintendo were first!

1. N is the name of the major villian from Pokemon Black/White
2.You seem to not understand why Nintendo's always been so sucessful. Their products are usually cheaper then the competition. The only 2 products that cost more/equal to the competition at Launch was the 3DS and the Virtual Boy. Both systems ended up not being very successful. Plus, Nintendo I hope has learned from the 3DS's price. It will be cheap compared to whatever Microsoft and Sony make.
3. You lost all credibility by claiming that Microsoft is king of Motion Controls. Kinect is laggy as all hell, and you claim that it makes Microsoft the king of motion controls?
4. Next time, try to think before you even post. Your logic is more flawed then a trolls.

I new about the controlers sensor what with the bosses gong on about a golf ball etc, i just feel nintendo wud be missing a trick seeing how popular and useful (as an interface) kinect has been, also dev's who create games on kinect could also port them over to the WII U! just a thought

There aren't any good games on Kinect. So why would Nintendo want them?

Kart all the way. It has Yoshi.

I fully agree. He's the best racer and the game has much better replay value then TP.

I agree. Avast Fluttershy's Ass is amazing! I think both remixes were made by the same person.

The original AFA was made by the same person, but my favorite on is here

#21902 Metroid fans watch this

In another thread I suggested a Metroid MMO, and I think it could be a great Hardcore-Magnet. With the many suit upgrades, and the many different types of planets and bounty hunters, there's not much more that would be needed to make it one of the best of the genre.

Hell, the would just have 3 factions: Space Pirates, GF, and Bounty Hunters

I Seriously wish that was our job. We'd be the people Nintendo would ask about what we'd want.

#21508 The Era of Video Game Fanboyism

Posted by Bill Cipher on 14 August 2011 - 11:32 AM

Nope. In this case you're completely wrong, and the fact that you say that you're a fanboy in your own sig shows that you don't understand what the term actually means :) In it's broadest sense fanboy is a word to describe an immature or ignorant fan. There'd be no reason for the word existing in the first place if it meant the same thing as fan. I suggest you change the word fanboy to fan in your sig, or you could just leave it and let people think you're calling yourself immature/ignorant :D

According to Urban Dictionary, a Fanboy is, and I quote,

A passionate fan of various elements of geek culture (e.g. sci-fi, comics, Star Wars, video games, anime, hobbits, Magic: the Gathering, etc.), but who lets his passion override social graces.
. What your describing is an Extreme fanboy. Just because someones a fanboy doesn`t mean that they are immature or ignorant. By the means above, I would be considered a Pokemon fanboy. Does that mean I`m immature? No, It just means that I enjoy Pokemon. The person your describing hate other companies for no reason. Myself and other fanboys don`t hate the other companies, we just enjoy the content that one company makes more then other companies.

No. To be quite honest, It's not because I'm a Nintendo Fanboy or anything, but it's because I have a friend who had to go through the crap Sony did with the PSP. he regrets the purchase not because of the lack of games, but because of Sony's failure to keep their promises from E3 2004. For roughly around the last year, the only people that supported the PSP with heavy weight titles were Square Enix and Atlas. Plus, Sony claimed back then that the PSP would have everything gamers had wanted, when at the end of it's life, the DS beat it heavily in every possible category of games that were available for both systems. I can't name a single game on the PSP that was not outclassed by any DS game in the same category.
All in All, History is looking to repeat itself.
