As soon as they start to focus on the demographic where the money is, i.e. people who don't like high quality games, they have made themselves irrelevant. I mean, why would I buy a Nintendo system if the games are the same as on Playstation? They should listen less to what people claim they want, and instead make games that they themselves believe are great. But they need games like ZombiU, Bayonetta 2 and Xenoblade X that they can't make themselves, and it would also be nice if there were a lot of more games to choose from. How are they going to accomplish this? We'll see, but even if it will be difficult to win the 3rd parties over, they should at least try to make the threshold to port a game over to the next Nintendo as low as possible, without compromising with their own ideas.

"[Kawabata] Xenoblade Chronicles X is using up most of the space on the Wii U disk. It's really, really close to the storage limit. (To the point that at one stage we were considering using more than one disk for the game). To enjoy playing, the enormous seamless map must load quickly (which was achieved through the hard work of our programming division), but we had help from Nintendo proper implementing a further improvement to what we had. I believe we're going to reveal the details of that on the official page in the future, but to people considering purchasing the packaged version of the game, as one of the game's developers, I highly recommend you make use of this improvement."
Sounds like there will be an install from disc option.
I WILL buy the packaged version of this game. And I will absolutely take you up on your suggestion, Mr. Kawabata.
Yes, it sounds like he means that IF you buy the packaged version of the game, loading might slow things down a bit compared to the downloaded version. And that this has been fixed by an "improvement" that we can "make use of". Which sounds like install from disc, as you said.

Many are thinking that here and elsewhere.... I wonder though... do you think that would be ready to show? I HOPE!

You're required to pay an additional fee to unlock a part of the game.
It's not an essential part of the game, it's just some cheat options. I think very few people will feel the urge to get a Meta Knight amiibo to increase their attack strength in this game. It's something to consider if you have the amiibo lying around anyway. And that's the point, right?

Classic controller or classic controller pro? Nintendo should have named them differently it is a pain!
CC and CCP are basically the same, it's just a different design (the "pro" has handles and better layout for the secondary shoulder buttons). I prefer the normal CC for SNES games and the CCP for games like Monster Hunter and Xenoblade where you use the analog sticks primarily.

... I do hope the game will have a "serious" vibe instead of a funny one like WW and SS.

Maybe not so surprising, but nice. Smash Bros is now the fastest selling Wii U game so far, selling better than Mario Kart 8:

Reviews are streaming in.
...
It's interesting to see the different verdicts on the Smash Tour mode. Destructoid and CVG love it, EGM says it's quite nice, while IGN and Gamexplain didn't like it.

Here's Gamexplain's review:
and here's the "talk about the review" from IGN (who don't want to put up a review until online works):
