#214153 To Everyone Asking for Nintendo's E3 Demos To Be on eShop

Posted by BountyHunter on 01 June 2013 - 04:52 AM

While this is probably a large factor, considering that at Best Buy, most players will only play the demo once, whereas at home they would play it repeatedly, which would probably make the flaws apparent. I think I know another reason why Nintendo is trying to put them in Best Buy instead of on your Wii U.

We all have the Wii U. We own it, and we will most likely buy Smash Bros, Mario, etc. However, Nintendo has to market to the people who don't know what the system is, or people who are on the fence about buying it.

#181402 Should Nintendo do a blog!

Posted by BountyHunter on 10 March 2013 - 04:27 PM

What's a question mark!

Outside of that! Nintendo does Nintendo Direct's and that's enough for me!

That just made my night, haha!

Anyways, yeah, I think Nintendo Direct is enough. Smash Dojo is a great idea for the next Smash Bros., but with development cycles changing so often, it would just aggravate fans to see a feature removed that was originally in the game.

#175700 Gamecube Virtual Console Suggestions

Posted by BountyHunter on 24 February 2013 - 05:59 PM

I made this post on the Official Nintendo Magazine forum at officialnintendomagazine.co.uk

I, like many gamers are hoping for Gamecube games on the Wii U Virtual Console. It only makes sense, as it is now two generations outdated. However, there is one thing that the Gamecube controller has that the Wii U pad doesn't - analogue triggers.

If you don't know what these are, they are triggers that react depending on how hard you push them in. So, in Mario Sunshine, lightly pressing the button will allow Mario to spray FLUDD lightly while running around. However holding in the button all the way will make Mario more like a turret, standing in place.

There are ways around it, but it would be difficult, and the tutorials wouldn't match up properly.

So while it may be difficult to put some Gamecube games on the VC, there are ways around it, as I stated in my original post. The touch screen could compensate, and don't forget - Nintendo made Jynx purple in Pokemon Snap to avoid racial problems, (look it up) so I'm sure they can edit text.

But back on topic...

-F-Zero GX
-Super Mario Sunshine
-Chibi-Robo
-Animal Crossing! (YESYESYES)
-Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
-Mario Kart: Double Dash
-Luigi's Mansion

There are so many great games on the Gamecube. I grew up with it, so my list could go on forever..

#161059 Nintendo working on Mario Kart HD and more

Posted by BountyHunter on 20 January 2013 - 08:51 AM

I actually saw that a few days ago, but yes, it's awesome news!

I can't wait to see what the new Mario Kart has in store for us, plus the new Zeldas. Also, let's hope that the new 3D Mario is like 64/Sunshine or even Galaxy and less like 3D Land.

Mii Shooting? Sounds kinda cool. And Wii Sports U was expected.

#160864 21K systems sold last week - Nintendos Wii U problems turn into a crisis.

Posted by BountyHunter on 19 January 2013 - 03:46 PM

I was watching IGN's Nintendo Video Chat last night and they made a very good point.

With the 3DS, there was a promise right away of an eShop with new 3DSware and GB/GBC/GBA virtual console games. Not only that, but we had a Zelda game coming out a few months after launch - sure, it was a remake, but it was a Zelda game nonetheless.

With the Wii U, aside from Pikmin 3, Wonderful 101, and Lego City Undercover, we don't really have any first party games to really look forward to.

What they need to do is have a Nintendo Direct, and say "We're working on a new Mario, Zelda, and whatever. Here's a few screenshots to debate for a few months/weeks, until E3 when you get a lot of information. That's what they did with 3D Land, which was brilliant. This will show people that, yeah, there will be some cool games coming out, and it is worth getting.

Or, to make it better, they could hurry up with the Virtual Console, as there isn't one yet. Why not have Gamecube games? It should be easy to emulate. The only downfall I can think of is the fact that there are no analog triggers, but in a game like Super Mario Sunshine, that isn't really necessary to use.

Nintendo could do my screenshot idea and say, "But, for now, enjoy playing Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda Wind Waker and Luigi's Mansion on the virtual console! Other games coming at a later date!"

They need to preoccupy us with something. If this e3 doesn't announce a ton of great AAA games, then the Wii U might be in trouble for a while.

And to the person that said that we shouldn't worry about sales and just play our system - if the console doesn't sell well, we won't get many games/support from other developers.

#159679 Iwata Talks Nintendo Wii U Performance and Miiverse

Posted by BountyHunter on 15 January 2013 - 06:17 PM

Tablet gaming will never kill consoles. Lets make this simple.....TABLETS SUCK!!!!

You know, I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2, and I love it. It's great for going on things, like, say, Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc., but also for games that you can only play on tablets. It will never replace my 3DS or Wii U, but it still is great fun. You can't just scream "TABLETS SUCK!!!!" on a forum. I know it's an opinion, but still, it's not right to insult anyone who uses a tablet.

Anyways, I like the news of Miiverse coming to smartphones. That's good.

#124752 Nintendo Land and New Super Mario Bros. U first scores

Posted by BountyHunter on 05 November 2012 - 02:27 PM

- Most of the innovation is saved for the final levels
- “Without wishing to spoil anything, we were surprised, excited, and twinkly-eyed during an excellent finale. It’s almost as if Nintendo suddenly realised that they were in fact working with a Wii U, with a game-changing GamePad and everything.”
- Hopes Nintendo will “build on this solid, if not mind-blowing, foundation.”

I wonder what this adds? Very exciting.

#124408 Miyamoto Shares thoughts on Wii-U F-Zero and Metroid

Posted by BountyHunter on 04 November 2012 - 03:50 PM

Miyamoto continues to prove he's out of touch.

I don't know that, I think it's just that he doesn't read the internet's opinions as much as we think he does. I do agree with him - what else can they do to the F-Zero series to make it different? Sure. It would be GORGEOUS to see the game in HD, going fast as GX with perfect framerate, but Nintendo likes to innovate.

#124061 New Miyamoto interview: F-Zero Wii U, The origin of Link and Metroid Wii U

Posted by BountyHunter on 03 November 2012 - 04:49 PM

Here is the whole interview translated - courtesy of yours truly!

On the occasion of the release of the Wii U, the most famous game designers received Gamekult for an interview. If the father of Mario and Zelda has been very evasive on Nintendo projects and his family, he was willing to reveal, for the first time, how was conceived his famous hero green tunic.

What was your exact role in the development of the Wii U?

It is hard to say, because in theory I am responsible for software, but since the beginning I've always had my say on the development of new machines, including levers. Finally, as we develop the hardware together with games, I found myself involved in the development of the DS and Wii. For Wii U, was very thin border between the controller and the software responsible for the hardware. We met several people from these two sections together to discuss the project. I was among those who supported the idea of having a small TV screen in the controller. After that it is pretty hard to tell who did what.
In an interview in 2006, you said that you were frustrated by the edges of the screen TVs. You already had in mind the Wii U?

It is difficult to link words and deeds! Sometimes I think out loud, but I do not think it was related to the Wii U. But it is true that with Panorama View mode, which allows to look around on the screen of the controller, we leave the TV.
From the outset, the Wii has given the impression of a console predisposed to sports games, including snowshoeing. Trying the Wii U and Nintendo Land, we rather got the impression that its primary purpose is the games. Is this the case?

It is not only that it was designed, I think it would have taken four small screens over a large touch screen for it. But it is true that it is easier with the Wii U make games because they can be four, tap the touch screen and see the result on the main screen. In addition, there is an NFC chip included. We can therefore integrate interactions that are close games, and not just society. I think of the toys. (Note: the system currently used by Skylanders). And then you know what a hit now on smartphone, at least in Japan, these are games collection cards. But these are virtual cards. What interests me are the real cards. That's why I think the Wii U has more potential than them.
Side of traditional games, you stated that Metroid would fit very well with the Wii U. Do you think more like a Metroid Prime, a Metroid Other M, or a third way?

You know, the kind of ideas I have on Metroid is already reflected in the mini-game that is devoted to the series in Nintendo Land, Metroid Blast. But more broadly, my reasoning is mainly as follows: the Wii U is an HD console with superior graphics and computing power. So naturally, what you may think, this is a nice action game in HD ... (Big smile of one who will not say more).
After a quick survey on Twitter, one of the games that lack most French players is F-Zero. Nobody really understands why Nintendo has produced since 2004. Is there a chance that we revisit the series on Wii U?

(Great astonished eyes) I am extremely pleased to hear from Twitter, because since the first episode on Super Nintendo, there were several opus, but I think the series has not changed much. I thought people were on the contrary be tired. So, I want to say thank you very much for your patience and try playing the mini-game F-Zero Nintendo Land. I am also very curious and I would like to ask these people why F-Zero? What you lack that we have not yet done?
Lately, there has been much talk about your future. And you, where do you see yourself in ten years?

In ten years, I hope I am still alive, especially! If this is the case, I hope that I will always at Nintendo, doing what I love. Today, I am very busy, but I'm lucky to be able to work at my place of youth - finally, they forties - who are all talented producers who worked on the Wii or Wii U. Thanks to them and their talent, I can detach a few of my regular duties, saying that their projects are in good hands. And focus on the things that interest me, even if I continue to supervise a little. At this point, I cling to finish Pikmin 3!
Finally, I would like to ask you a question which, I think, you never answered. You told repeatedly creating Mario, but never the hero of Zelda. Do you remember the birth of Link?

(He thinks) Actually, the sprite of Link was designed by Mr. [Takashi] Tezuka (right arm Miyamoto on Super Mario Bros., And The Legend of Zelda, in charge of the series New Super Mario Bros.). At the time, as you know, the NES was very limited, and we had only allowed three different colors. And yet, we wanted a recognizable character. What I wanted above all is that it uses either his sword or his shield, and it is visible. We have therefore made it big guns for them to be recognized on the screen. He then had to create a hero that we can distinguish these weapons, despite its small size. We thought a long hat and big ears. This has raised a magical character, so we left in the direction of an elf. At the time, saying, with pointy ears character as Peter Pan said, and as I love Disney, we started to inspire us. Not completely, of course, otherwise it would not have been super ... From there, I thought that the green Peter Pan suited him perfectly. But as we were restricted to three colors, and there was a lot of forest environments in the game, green to green, it suited quite well, so we continued this track.
And where does his name?

This is a story that is not well known, but at the time, when we started the design of The Legend of Zelda, it was believed that the fragments of the Triforce would actually chips! It was supposed to be a video game that happen in both the past and the future. As the hero was the link between one and the other, called the "Link" link in English. But ultimately Link never went into the future and it remained a fantasy game. One can even say that it has absolutely nothing futuristic! (Laughs)
