#226501 Any Graphic Arist here that could do me a huge solid?

Do you know how much work and time goes into making something like this? I'll see what I can do but don't expect it too soon.

#226269 Defending the Xbox One against the hate

Posted by Byakuya Togami on 26 June 2013 - 02:39 AM

The Xbox One is in a bad predicament. Microsoft has shown they can't be trusted, and whose to say 3-4 years down the line Microsoft won't re-implement the DRM policies? "Hardcore" gamers will go for the PS4 for it's better hardware and cheaper price. Casuals will see the higher price and run away. The higher price is what kills it. Any multiplat game will be superior on PS4 anyway, and Microsoft has the worst first party exclusives out of the Big 3. Not a good situation.

Companies don't care about you. Why the hell do you think Sony waited until after hearing all the negative reception towards to Xbox One to remove the DRM? Because they were planning to do the exact same thing but didn't because they only care about money. It honestly sickens me that anyone believes the delusional notion that a company cares about them. Companies are just in it for the money. Always have been, always will be.

Edit: Counterpoints for everything you've said, Saturn.

1. Your absolute trust in the government is pretty foolish. You don't think that the government lies to you? Look at all the recent scandals involving security breaches. All you'd have to do is agree to the TOS and you've just given Microsoft full legal rights to spy on you and do Odin knows what with your information. If you don't think that it's fishy that Microsoft announces a system requiring your Kinect to always be on during a time where we can't even trust our own government not to spy on us is suspicious, you have a very sheepish mentality.

2. I'm not happy because it shouldn't have been there in the first place. It's anti-consumerism, and a slap in the face to all Xbox fans out there.  No, not just a slap to them, but any self respecting consumer who doesn't appreciate being screwed over by big business. Microsoft only went back on their DRM policies because it was clear that it wasn't going to sell well. All they will listen to is money, plain and simple. Big business doesn't care about you, me, or anyone else.

3. Yeah.... I'll pay my $50 for PlayStation Plus and pretty much equal online while saving hundreds of dollars on games each year. Most of the features the Xbox One has in terms of online are shared by the PS4. There is really nothing about Microsoft's online that gives it an edge in any way.

4. I get that. It's still going to spy on you. Also, it's going to be real fun trying to play an online game when some little **** faced brat comes in and shouts "XBOX OFF" over the microphone. Welcome to the future of online gaming, guys!

5. Killer Instinct is P2P and looked meh in general. Dead Rising 3 is made by Capcom so it's not going to stay on the Xbox One for long. Ryse looked atrocious, and even you thought that. It seems you're grasping at any opportunity to defend this piece of junk. We don't know jack about Sunset Overdrive. I don't know why you're acting like it can be considered an asset at this point.

6. Most of which will already be available on the PlayStation 4. Next.

7. $100 for inferior technology, spynect, "exclusives" that will be ported within a year, and sports. $100 is a big deal when it offers absolutely nothing worth while.

8. 3rd party games I'll be able to get on PS4 and occasionally free on PlayStation Plus. Yawn.

I honestly don't see what there is to defend here, Saturn. Microsoft has proven that they'll go as far as they can to squeeze every penny out of you, the consumer, as long as they can get away with it.

#224209 Xbox one will not require internet acces. and will alow used games.

Posted by SoldMyWiiUAndLeftTheForums on 19 June 2013 - 02:27 PM

Still getting a PS4 instead mostly just down to personal preference, I do thank Microsoft for listening as they could have just carried on and done it anyway, although I do belive they have only done this so the thing at least sells, it does prove one thing though, we gamers do matter and if we stand up for things they will change.

#225853 EA is watching Wii U

not buyin it.I think i've finally hit the point that id rather read a patcher thread than another EA and wii-u thread.

#224404 Lose the DRM, Lose the cool features

Posted by Julio93 on 19 June 2013 - 10:20 PM

Its funny, even if they are doing this, the internet still doesn't give a damn. Heck even i don't. You want an Xbox One? More power to you, the console is great, but the head honcho's behind it are not likable or trustworthy.  they started the fire, they put out the fire weeks later. Like a bad President trying to be liked, nobody's impressed.

#225622 Why not have a 3d gamepad?

Posted by Nollog on 23 June 2013 - 06:07 PM

The reason's probably the same as to why the bottom screen of the 3DS isn't 3D, touch sensitive screens and 3D don't mix very well when your finger or stylus is constantly obscuring the effect.

Then it would be a two party war because see with PS4 targeting its core demographic and... oh...hi Apple *giggles* is that a new controller design your getting a patent for? Its smexy..

While I agreed with a lot of what you said, it's mind boggling that you will diss Microsoft for DRM and then say hi to Apple.. gaming on a theoretical "Apple console" would most definitely be all digital and you'd be locked into their app store, where only games they approved would be allowed. Apple has the worst DRM policies and are VERY unfriendly to mature content, which a lot of video games these days have. There's no way Apple can compete in the console video game market, only Apple fanboys would buy their crap.

#224671 How many games do you play at one time?

Posted by Waller on 20 June 2013 - 01:53 PM

It's impossible for me to feel like playing an old game when the newer, shinier one is just sitting there.

So I guess I only play one game at a time.

I always struggle with this. I don't want to spread myself to thin, but at the same time I get bored with one style of game play for to long. I'm curious how many games otehr wii u players are playing at any one time. I already know someone is going to try to be smart and say you can't play mroe than one at a time =P

15 or more.

#223076 Is there any truth to this?

Posted by Ixchel on 17 June 2013 - 02:14 PM

Because of the cost of games and frequency of release is it possible that people like EA and Activision don't want to drop with Nintnedo because they know that if you only have 60 bucks in your pocket its going to Mario not Fifa?

Sorta. Actually most of the issue is that the console still has a low install base in comparison to other consoles, and those companies expect it to stay smaller than the competition's. If it had a huge install base we'd be getting flooded with shovelware, dozens more ports, and cheap rehashes by now. It's mainly the less popular, more niche titles that are more liable to be tossed aside for 1st party Nintendo. It's probably why we're seeing so many unique titles on the eShop right now while there's a sort of first party drought going on, now that I'm thinking of it. :P

#223119 Is there any truth to this?

To answer your question in a word, yes.

- A lot of Nintendo fans tend to buy Nintendo games over 3rd party games. That's tough to compete with. (I think N has the best devs in the world, nothing for N fans to be ashamed of)

- Wii U has a low install base (a fact that I think honestly affects some devs, for others it's a convenient excuse, look @XB1 and PS4's install base)

- Some devs are graphics whores/spec snobs

- Some devs have better business relationships with Microsoft and/or Sony than Nintendo (a nice way of saying paying for exclusives).

- Some devs look at all of the above.

I love the way the controller feels in my hands, even if it's not utilized....

If you haven't realized yet...THE GAMEPAD IS WHAT MAKES THE WII U THE WII U!

#221608 The Wii U should have been as powerful as the Xbox one.
