Yeah, dust clouds could be annoying to get running well.
Talking about how the game runs, can we expect there to be a difference between the Gamestick, Ouya, Wii U and PC versions of the game, or will they all run the same (same textures, animations, framerate, etc)?
Game will have diferences, we will optimize the performance for every target device. We want to offer as much quality as possibly on everyone. But for sure mobile, OUYA, Gamestick we will downgrade textures and polygons and for PC/MAC/Linux/Wii U we will upgrade.

Yeah, don't push yourself too far with the story mode, I'd much prefer a game that plays well over a game with good cutscenes. I was just wondering
And it's good that the other maps have natural wind. Some deserts have wind in real life, but not all of them. I guess yours must be one of the ones without much wind
The problem it is we want always be very perfectionists LOL So, if we think about wind on desert we will want to make dust clouds moving and this could reduce game perfomance LOL

Oh cool, didn't notice the trees moving when the helicopter got nearer, must've been because the heli was going so fast most of the time . That's a pretty cool little addition.
But do the trees move just slightly by themselves without the helicopter going near them? It's hard to tell from the video(s), but it looks like they only move when the heli flies past, not when the natural wind blows.
The game looks great guys, will there be a storymode (with cutscenes etc.)?
Watch the second video, about cameras... it is from a early version the alpha 0.7 isometric video, but you can see better the tree effect with copter wind... and not only trees... the groud bushes too...
Natural wind it is not on this map... because it is desert... but yes on next maps... rocky forest and asian jungle...
About story mode... mmmm maybe... i must to be honest, we are small indie studio, we have not so much money... so, we will do us much as we can... we prefer to do 3 things good than 10 bad.

Wow, I can already see a massive improvement. This game is starting to look really great, guys, the new camera angles look really good. If there was one thing I could change, I would make the trees move with the wind just slightly (you were probably already going to do that, but it'd just make the game feel more alive).
Oh, and another cool feature would be upgradable helicopters, even if you're just upgrading small things like more room for passengers or ammo.
Hehehe R00bot, sometimes our mind it is on other things, like a magic trick Pay attention to videos... tree moves with helicopter wind
About upgrade, yes, game will have, you will unlock when reach new ranks... my fault it is i didn't wrote here this is the basic game description:
Hell-IX (read it as roman numeral Hell "Nine") is a Combat & Rescue game based on classic games like Tiger Heli, Air Rescue, Desert Strike and others. The concept is very simple, take off, search for marines, rescue them and return home meanwhile you’re fighting against the enemy troops.
Key Features:
How is a typical game with Hell-IX?
When a game starts you will take off from marines' base, your HUD directs you to where the next main objective is and where the secondary objectives are located. The HUD will also tell you where the enemies are, fuel, where to refill ammo supplies and of course, your base.
At the beginning of a game the enemy difficulty is really easy, it’s not a problem, some ground troops and light vehicles. Fly fast to rescue your men with your copter, load up to 5 men every time and return to base, if you need you can reload your weapons or refill your fuel.
When you return to the base and drop off your marines, a new main mission will be shown on your HUD - but this time the difficulty will have increased with tougher enemies than previous. Everytime you finish a main mission enemies will became harder and harder.
When you die the game will give you a score based on destroyed enemies, completed main and secondary missions, survival time etc. This score will be converted to experience points that allow you will increase your army ranking (from Private to General). Every rank you will achieve more features are unlocked and will open new maps.
Special Features:
These are the basic copter configurations with rockie rank:
So with special features players will unlock:
We will implement an archivement system.
The planned maps to unlock:
- Rockie = Persian Desert (default map)
- Sargent = Rocky Forest
- Captain = Asian Jungle
- General = Urban Assault

Make a space trading game, something akin to the old Elite, that online would be great.
Oh, that's our dream but this kind of game needs a really big team to develop it and we are still small team, but maybe the next game after this one if we have sucess with Hell IX and the next one voted here.

Looking forward to this.
One (ask/question) if I may.
1: Is there any chance of incorporating civilians into this, not that I want to go round blasting camels and their nomad riders (the Desert Strike kind of map). It could give the gamer something to watch out for when gunning for enemy vehicles on the road and tracks.
Yes you can always ask and yes, the game will have civilians... not only to watch out, to rescue too... you cann't see them still on video because we are on alpha 0.7 version. We still have a lot to work to do

We are working actualy on Hell-IX, but our pre-production team need to begin to work on new game concept. We have 3 ideas on mind, would you like to vote and help us to decide our next game?
All these games have provisional names, and it is the basic concept for the game.
1) Under the Clouds.
In a diferent world, not our world, all people live in a sort of islands over the clouds, it's like to live in a peak, nobody knows what there is under the clouds because nobody returns from there. This game is a mix of a RPG with a game like Tomb Raider or Assasin Creed, i mean, 3rd person camera, puzzle resolve, climbing, combat system, etc... but it is rpg too because player will adquire experience and progress. What's the mistery under the clouds?
2) Guns & Dust
This game is a wester, a Bouty Hunter arrives to the town!! it's a 3rd person game cam, It is a sort of game like Gear of War or Killzone. This game it is story driven and player must hunt diferent bandits till reach the final boss. Different kind of scenaries... towns, cannyons, ride horse and cross plains, train assaults, etc...
3) Settlers of the Moon.
This game it is a sort of Settlers or Age of Empire but with the objective of conquest the moon, build your colony, farm resources, investigate, grow and fight against others players for terrotory (yes, it is a multiplayer game) and again enemy IA (maybe auto-pirates or ancient alien race), combat systems it is turn base like xcom. This game will have too a trading system, diplomacy, war, alliances, etc...
What's your vote?

We continue working hard with Hell - IX, we added a lot of features, like three camera modes; 3rd Person, First Person and a Classic Isometric (you asked us for and you got it ). well it is not really isometric because we do not want to lose the perspective view but works fine.
On this new alpha version we added a lot of new things like the radar system to guide the player on the huge map about where are the objectives, enemies and stations. We implemented helicopter damages and death and we improved a bit the auto target system (we need to work a bit more on this). We implemented the strafe and orbital movement for copter, this last one it is automatic when a target it is selected.
But we have a lot of work to do still. for example the enemies are very silly and static, we need to make them smart and let them move, scape or chase helicopter even ambush the player.
We thank all your suggestions, we want to make a game for your enjoy. Now, let's take a look to this new gameplay video
Oh, if you play on PC, Mac or Linux too please remember to vote for us on Steam Greenlight http://steamcommunit...s/?id=162908815
if you want to see a previous video with the three camera modes
Thanks for read and watch,
The Retromade Games Team.

Hi All,
We are a new indie game studio, past week we became authorized Nintendo Wii U developers and we hope to release games for Wii U soon, almost our first game Fixie Joe (actualy available for iOS & Android devices) we hope became available after the summer.
Retromade Games Studio was founded 2 years ago by veterans from the advertising and technology industry. We’re developers who not only make games, we play them too.
Our basic philosophy is to return to classic gameplay. If you remember the old coin-up machines and classic home computer like ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 or consoles like Nintendo, Sega, Coleco, Atari, etc. we do too and feel our love for those simple games helps draw inspiration. We decided we can make games keeping controls as simple as the classics but with a modern visual twist. New games with a classic soul.
