#316478 Super Mario Maker: 60 Levels Confirmed; One by Rayman's Michel Ancel

Posted by Marcus on 07 August 2015 - 06:21 AM

They're doing a pretty good job of making this hard to avoid. I predict quite impressive sales!

I don't even think I'll bother creating much but it seems like there'll be so much to play through that it's worth owning for that.

#315784 Doom 4 - First Footage

Haven't played a Doom game since Doom 1 back in the early 90s. I did enjoy that this actually looks like those original games though, in its pace and style. Just ridiculous kinda Mortal Kombat style gore, which is an important part of any civil society :-)

Trails of Cold Steel looks quite promising!

Also crossing my fingers they don't mess up the RE:Revelations 2 port.

(someone should freeze-frame that video and list all of those logos shown at the end too)

#313643 RUMOR: Another New LEGO Title on the Way?

Not the sort of approach I expect with this sort of name but I guess the early access approach is probably best for this sort of game. Lots of potential bugs to iron out.

They've been kicking themselves for not thinking of it first for about a decade now. Might as well just jump on the bangwagon. At least they can claim some sense of authenticity.

#313273 Project Cars struggling to hit 30FPS on Wii U... devs might wait for NX

Probably something about "Defeating the vision and purpose of the game".

I'd at least enjoy the disappointment if they worded their own response starting with "Probably something about....".

Just downgrade the graphics you goons. Everyone expects it to look worse anyway.

#312574 Yooka-Laylee, revealed, officially planned for Wii U

Posted by Marcus on 03 May 2015 - 04:26 AM

Genitals are offensive because children do not yet know they have them.

My favourite ever complaint of that variety was someone who wrote in to a TV show on the BBC at one point complaining about nudity with the reason being "breasts are not suitable for children". Brilliant.

Oh bloody hell, I just spent half the week unlocking the damn thing.

I look forward to the sequel Pea and Anno.

This might be my first kickstarter pledge actually. How do they tend to do the different platforms in terms of pledges cos I only really wanna play it on Wii U? I guess it depends on how they set their milestones but does anyone ever have platform specific pledges?

#312408 *Stands up and applauds*

Sure, you might be responsible enough and I don't disagree but call me cynical, I don't have faith in mass population having a proper sense of reason and voting responsibly with their wallets, at least when it comes to gaming

Haha well you've hit upon the dilemna at the heart of mine, and many people's, entire political worldviews! Which is worse? Mob stupidity or state corruption? To be honest, I'm not even sure. It seems to switch from year to year. Look at censorship nowadays. Until quite recently, that was hugely a worry about the government. Now it's a worry about whatever twitter mob happens to arise out of the scum pits.

I would say the main difference is that state legislation is very hard to remove once it's in place. Mob zeitgeist can easily change quickly. For better or worse.

I despise it and I don't see this practice dieing off unless there is some sort of legislation against it.

Yeah, you have the exact opposite thought process as I do.

My position is that there should never ever be legislation for any of it. People should just educate themselves and vote with their money more responsibly. The government should only ever intervene in the market when there's actual harm being done. Not when people are being willing fools.

#312276 Xenoblade Chronicles 3D - Final Game Stable, Steady Frame Rate

Posted by Marcus on 23 April 2015 - 09:57 AM

Lots of people on the gaming site comment sections is complaining about the graphics. Do they bother you?

Not at all. It's perfectly playable and the original game feels completely intact. There are just a few moments when you think it looks a bit rough, Colonies 6 and 9 buildings all look a bit muddy for example. In contrast though, some of the wide-open natural parts don't feel like they've suffered at all. The fact that areas like the Bionis' Leg run without any framerate dips is pretty incredible to witness on a handheld. The only performance hit I've noticed so far is in parts of Sword Valley.

As ports go, it's better than average.

#312169 Big Blue FZero Track MK8 (DLC Pack 2)

Yeah, this track is the headliner for me. Screw animal crossing. This is one of the best looking tracks in the whole game. They've really stepped it up for their DLC.

What exactly happened to Wonder Flick, Level 5? Haven't heard anything about that for about 2 years.
