I think a really good zombie shooter game could utilize the WiiU gamepad with the zapper attachment. If youve seen that E3 2011 road demo which shows the inside view of a car but you can look in all directions with the gamepad. Imagine this sort of idea used in a pitch black room & you using the gamepad to look all around the room for enemies in a night vision look (like in the movie REC) That would be ace & crazy scary.

To be honest I'm quite flabbergasted at the lack of any real info about wiiu not materialising. 6 weeks to go till E3 & nothing but smoke & mirrors. Hopefully some good info tomoz.

there seems to be a real lack of any kind of news on wiiu at the minute. Just snippets here & there. The machine could potentially be about in about 6-8 months time??? When do you think Nintendo will start to begin really pushing the wiiu at shows etc? The next big show is CES in Vegas in January but not sure if they will show then. When is Tokyo game show?

I'm not a programmer or hardware genius so I'm not that savvy with the current Wii specs but could have been that difficult to have made it 720p? I'm not sure what they would have had to have added to make this an option. I think having a bit of extra oomph & HD would have made the Wii more appealing to hardcore crowd & probably would have had more third party support. They would have had both bases covered in the casual/family crowd they really cornered with the Wii & the people who went with 360/PS3. This seems to be what they are doing with WiiU as they finally have a machine what can do both sides of the market really well. In terms of motion gaming the new Zelda game is the most impressive I've experienced, I've tried loads of kinect & PS move games but wasnt overly impressed. Really hoping the WiiU is truly next gen & not just a notch up from the current crowd but wouldnt be too bothered in all honesty. To be able to play some of the classic nintendo brands in HD will be great

I was just thinking that if nintendo had spent a bit more on the Wii & not been so concerned in making a big profit on each one sold that they could have stuck a hdmi & made it 720p. Then they could have got another 18 months at least out of the current Wii. I must admit & did prefer it when the hardware cycle was around every 4-5 years. It gave the industry a shot in the arm every few years but console's are lastin longer & longer. God know's how long after the next gen will be!

I heard an interview with Reggie about WiiU being backwards compatible with Wii software but the original games wont play in HD. This got the cynic in me thinking that it's pretty obvious there are gonna be a shedload of HD remakes for the WiiU probably available through the online store. So what games would you like HD remakes of? Or do you think I'm being an stingy old cynic

one things for sure, Nintendo have to get there online sorted 100% when WiiU is released. I'm not sure if you can have steam & origin but it would be great to have both options. More choice for YOU the player.

There's still some pretty amazing visuals coming from the current gen & some of the stuff for 2012 looks amazing. Tomb Raider & Hitman being a couple of examples. I'd be really happy if the WiiU knocks out 1080p 60fps with the games that are released. I wasnt too excited about WiiU initially but after doing a bit of research & watching some of the vid's that are knocking about I'm pretty stoked for it now

Many thanks to all the kind replies. The first game I played was 3d monster maze on zx81. A sure fire classic! That killer freaks game on WiiU looks pretty good. Currently playing skyward sword on Wii. I just enjoy good games regardless of what system they are on. It helps to have most of the systems when you work in retail. If I get any WiiU info/snippets I'll be sure to post. Looking forward to a mario game in HD mostly. Skyward sword in standard def is Such a shame, would have looked fab in HD. It's a cracking game though.
