#249917 The Wind Waker HD only took 6 months to develop

Posted by Gamejunkie on 06 October 2013 - 02:57 AM

Regardless of the so called frame rate issues which I haven't come across yet its still far better then the original overall and certainly not a cash in my opinion. Considering how many HD remakes there have been in recent times on various consoles by that logic they would all be cash ins. At the end of the day there are many people who have never played these games and some who have who would love to play them again with graphical and other improvements on their new consoles. There is nothing wrong in that.

#249768 WARNING Wii U Internet Browser / Amazon Shopping

Posted by Gamejunkie on 05 October 2013 - 08:05 AM

That is very unfortunate and its good to know at least you should be getting your money back. In all honesty I don't know why people use Internet browsers on game consoles. Personally I never do as the browsing experience is far better on my iPad, iPhone and Mac.

#246338 Review Of Official High Capacity Gamepad Battery Pack.

Posted by Gamejunkie on 16 September 2013 - 02:41 PM

If I import one would it work here in europe? (Only the battery)

There is no reason why it shouldn't as it works in US Gamepads. Accessories typically are not region specific. At the end of the day its just a battery pack and internally all Gamepads are essentially the same no matter where they come from.

Here is a review of the official high capacity battery pack which is currently only available in Japan. Seems like it is an improvement although not an extensive one.

You can import it from here if you choose to do so.

#245517 Is now the right time to buy?

No one as of today has seen the UI "first hand", unless you're a PS4 engineer or developer (which have limited access to it), which makes me doubt that you've had a PS4 in your hands.

There we go again, "the PS4 has a better features", "the Wii U is missing features", yet you can name exactly.. none? What am I missing here? Are you really that useless while having a discussion?

Forget it kid.

You don't have to be an engineer or developer to know what the PS4 UI is like. If you search the Internet you will find information on it. As for having played the PS4 yes I have played a number of games on it and I have seen the UI/dashboard although I have not actually used it. I have seen it being used by developers.

As for missing feature things like a robust online structure, a unified account system where your digital content is tied to your account and not a console. Also a decent level of storage which is actually faster then what is in the Wii U. A built in Ethernet port. Not to mention PS+. These are just some of the features of the PS4 which the Wii U does not have.

I know that. My point is that it's useless for him to use PR nonsense without making his point with examples.

Its hardly PR nonsense.

I'm hearing the word "overall better experience" a lot lately when people refer to the PS4, yet most of you have no idea with what you really mean by it. Those are exactly the usual suspects, so let's take a look:

  • UI - All we have seen are staged videos so you have no idea if it's actually a substantial improvement over PS3 or not.
  • Online structure- What? Paying for the same service you had on PS3 for free?
  • PSN - Just a fancy name for online gameplay.
  • PS+ - Although the service is pretty good, being mandatory for online play is definitely not a good thing. And we already have that on PS3 so I can't really see that ""overall better experience".
I already own a PS3 and truth be told that the PS4 offers literately nothing substantially better than what we already have on last gen. I'll be playing GTA V thank you. But kudos to Sony for the effective brainwashing.

Staged videos ? I've played actual games on the console and the experience is definitely better then current generation including the PS3.

Yes you're now paying for online but I rather pay for a robust and full featured online then the virtually non existent online on the Wii U. Not to mention you're not just paying to play online but also getting loads of quality content at a discount or for free.

The PSN is far better then what Nintendo offers and the whole interface is far better then on any existing consoles including the PS3.

There is absolutely nothing wrong in having to pay to play online especially when it includes discounted or free content. Also as I said the experience will be much better then on existing consoles including the PS3.

The PS4 will overall be a far better experience then the current consoles including the PS3. If you can't afford one then fair enough but I suggest you don't insult people by implying they have been brainwashed by Sony. Just because this is an Internet forum where you are essentially anonymous doesn't mean you can insult people.

You stick with your PS3. At the same time I will be getting a better experience on my PS4 which will be worth the £349.99 cost as well as the £40 cost of PS+.

#243925 Nintendo's decisions 8/28/13 Your thoughts?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 03 September 2013 - 01:02 PM

Reducing the Wii U's price this early without an ambassador program is a bad move IMO. Now people won't want to buy a Nintendo console at launch. It's just as bad as having a low install base and if they also have a low install base for their next console at launch that could be even worse.

I disagree. You seem to think you're entitled to free games because they dropped the price so early. Well I've got news for you. Neither you nor anyone else is entitled to free games. If people choose to be early adopters then that's their choice. As early adopters they get to play games on the system much earlier. Its the risk you take as a price is always going to happen whether its sooner or later. Its certainly not going to put people off or affect sales on the future. If you're so upset about it then I suggest you don't be an early adopter and wait until the price drops before buying a console. Just stop whining about something which is not an issue in the first place.

#243261 intendo 2DS: Lighter than XL, worse battery, mono speaker, screens same size as

Posted by Gamejunkie on 31 August 2013 - 09:31 AM

i dunno why anyone would want a 2DS anyway.

You do realise its being marketed to kids in particular the under 7's. I guess you've not been following all the press reports or discussion on these and other forums. Its not for people who vist forums like this and the dedicated gaming sites.

#243196 Is now the right time to buy?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 31 August 2013 - 01:24 AM

I disagree.  At $299 it is a far better value due to the games now.  The PS4 obviously is more powerful.  That is nice.  I am getting one on launch day but I still will be using my Wii U... which I also had since launch. I don't discriminate 8).
I am very disappointed that infamous is pushed back. To me that hurt the "value". What good is this piece of kit with 1-2 games?  Sound familiar?
My only worry is there will be so much noise over PS4 and the other one. ..Wii U will get lost in the hype.

I don't think so. Its not just about the games but the whole user experience. Due to the much better experience and quality games at launch the PS4 is a much better value. Not to mention the third party support will be much better for the PS4. If I was to buy only one console the PS4 would be it.

#243085 Is now the right time to buy?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 30 August 2013 - 01:05 PM

I think that it is the best value for money out of the three next gen consoles by far. There are no exciting exclusives coming to X1 and PS4 this year.

I disagree. Whilst I wouldn't try to dissuade anyone from buying a Wii U the PS4 represents a far better value for money and both it and the Xbox One have several top notch exciting AAA games this year.

#238439 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Gamejunkie on 11 August 2013 - 02:24 AM

I'm sick of people on this forum going crazy whenever someone expresses a different opinion to their own. Just because people dislike this game doesn't mean they are bad at it and can't be bothered to learn how to play it right. 3Dude is constantly using that to defend games he loves whenever someone criticises it. And it's getting very old now.
This game isn't terrible, but it is by no means perfect. It is a pretty average game. Some people on here need to learn that just because you think something is fantastic doesn't mean everyone else has to as well.

I agree with your comments. And 3dude and certain other people just seem like putting people down and make out like they're gods gift to gaming. Too many people here seem to defend 3dude out of blindness thinking he is is so clever with what he says when anyone can do research on the Internet and come up with the same information and wording.

As for this game it is overrated and shallow not to mention technically flawed. Drawing whether on the screen or using an analogue stick is not precise in the least and hit or miss. Plus there is often lots of stuff going on on the screen the graphics don't help in keeping track of whats going on. Too many people are justifying this game because its a Wii U exclusive and they are counting on it to be a saviours for the Wii U when there is no way its going to be. It may sell a few thousand or even hundred thousand copies but its not going to be a system seller or save the Wii U. Its too much of a niche games for that. And that is the problem with Platinum and Clover games. They are way to obscure and are part of a niche genre to sell well enough to have any impact.

If people like this game and are planning on buying it then that's fine but this game is not one of those top notch AAA games.

#238260 Wonderful 101 is the reason to own a Wii U

Posted by Gamejunkie on 10 August 2013 - 11:01 AM

This game alone made my Wii U purchase worthwhile. Honestly I came in expecting terrible controls a forced joining of characters and really shotty graphics but what I got was a super polished high octane almost perfect game.

The Wonderful 101 is in its own genre. Its in its own league and to me and it may just be me but this game might be the best game available on the wii u. I have Pikmin 3 and have been playing it here and there but The Wonderful 101 just seems so much more polished and NEXT GEN (FINALLY!) than any other thing any body else is doing...

This game can sell consoles and change the game and the way that everyone looks at Nintendo.

Platinum Games shows that the Wii U is an amazing console if you use it right and more exclusives like this will put the world on notice.

I disagree. It may be a reason for you to own a Wii U it absolutely is not in the grand scheme of things. Judging by the demo its an OK probably average game but nothing special. It is in no way a system seller and if you think so you must be living in cloud cuckoo land. You way overrate the game.

#237252 The Next Super Smash Bros. Won't Have a Story Mode or Cutscenes

Posted by Gamejunkie on 05 August 2013 - 04:08 PM

So yeah I am not alone in this opinion and as one poster commented "Nintendo is losing touch with its Western Market" I am starting to agree!
http://megagames.com...n=zergnet_78797

Whether Nintendo is losing touch with its western market is another issue entirely and has nothing to do with what is being discussed in this thread. This game does not need and should not have a story mode and therefore its not missing or lacking anything by not having it.

#237249 Pikmin 3, Does it do anything superior to ps360?

Posted by Gamejunkie on 05 August 2013 - 04:05 PM

We can say safely say one thing, Pikman 3 exclusive to the Wii U and therefore does something the PS3 and 360 haven't done yet. If you want the Pikman experience you're going to have to go with the Wii U. And based on what I've read online from reviews Pikman 3 is a must have game for Wii U owners.

Its not called Pikman. Its called Pikmin.
