#200450 Do you regret getting the Wii U?

Posted by WaddleDee on 26 April 2013 - 02:39 PM

I've loved my Wii U from the start.

The "game draught" everyone spoke about didn't apply to me.

Honestly, the whole "game draught" excuse seems more of a way to say "hey, I don't have money to buy more than 2 games for the Wii U so I need to be ABSOLUTELY 100% SURE that this is the perfect game for me before I buy it" which obviously doesn't apply to a lot of games, unless you've played it before.

Can't wait to play with all you silly americans.

#192719 Lego City Undercover ?

Posted by WaddleDee on 10 April 2013 - 02:20 PM

collectibles are addicting

This! I think I've spent the last 10 hours, since I got to the main city, doing nothing but looking for collectibles, disguises and wrecking the city for super-build blocks.

This game is amazing, I didn't expect the humor to be so childishly adult, either. It's childish but a kid wouldn't get it, as there's a lot of references to movies, other games, etc etc

#187819 Wii U won't be getting Unreal Engine 4

I don't really give a rainbow.

I currently spend all my time enjoying Monster Hunter and Lego City, if they keep coming up with these totally-not-graphic-focused games that run fine on the Wii U and are mostly played by the Nintendo-type of people, then I'm fine with anything.

#182029 How is Monster Hunter Popular?

Posted by WaddleDee on 12 March 2013 - 02:14 PM

The demo is a terrible representative for the actual game.

In the actual game you have to build up your armor by gathering materials from these giant monsters, You fight a ton of them in different areas, there's towns, different quests aswell that don't always involve these monsters. Besides that the strong point of MH has always been the incredible community-feel it gives and the fun factor of the online gameplay, that's why it has never been as popular in NA/EU as in JP.

As for what you said. The graphics are mediocre because it's a direct "expansion" of the last game on the Wii (sort of). I don't see how the gameplay is extremely dated. The slow-sluggishness was intended and depends on your weapon aswell. Wouldn't be very fair if you were a wallclimbing ninja vs a giant-slow monster, would it? The control system is fine, it just takes time to get used to. As with a lot of console games. The camera system might be bad because you're just not used to controlling that like you have to in Monster Hunter.

Your points are all pretty valid considering the incredible failure of a demo they've put out. They should've added a multiplayer demo, that way you would really get to see the "power" of Monster Hunter.

#181690 Monster Hunter Tournament

Posted by WaddleDee on 11 March 2013 - 12:12 PM

Each monster has it's own Top 3 time rank. Does that clarify the rules for you?

Won't that require an incredible amount of participants?

I'd say a smarter system would be to set up team divisions, like 2-person division and then make them fight a specific set of monsters, the team that beats the most monsters the fastest are proclaimed the winner.

I can't say I fully understand..

So one team could pick Alatreon and the other team Great Jaggi. Obviously Great Jaggi team is going to win on the time limit, does that make them the winners?

#178272 Crysis 3 was running on Wii U, “close to launching”, but canned

Posted by WaddleDee on 02 March 2013 - 11:19 AM

Does this mean EA has already given up on the Wii U/Nintendo in general?

Since Crysis is arguably one of their most beloved published games. And they didn't even bother getting that on the Wii U.

#178270 Really ! Still no zen pinball after 3 month's 3 month's wow

Posted by WaddleDee on 02 March 2013 - 11:15 AM

And on WiiU I payed 10 for Cave Story, where on the WiiU did you get it for free. We are talking WiiU here after all.

Are we talking Cave Story or The Cave? I don't remember Cave Story being on the Wii U, WiiWare sure but not Wii U.

This thread has given me the need to both try, and avoid Zen Pinball again. When I first tried it, I didn't notice a single thing like the RPG elements that were mentioned earlier in this thread. It was just pinball.

#177063 Wii U sales fall below PS Vita's for the first time

Posted by WaddleDee on 27 February 2013 - 10:04 AM

Wii U sold 9633 units in Japan last week

Doesn't like.. 70% of Japanese households already have a Wii U?

#165574 Sold sonic racing and downloaded mario kart 64 instead

Posted by WaddleDee on 01 February 2013 - 04:00 PM

I played about 30 mins with mates and they like rather play mario kart

Well I think that sums up why your friends can't compete in higher difficulties and everything else we've discussed surrounding your friends in the game.

but i just feel the drifting in mk64 better and overall handling of a vechile that bit better.

I hope you realize the amount of combinations there are to modify pretty much everything about your vehicle in Sonic Transformed. And then there's the fact that any type of controls will become default after a while.

The planes and boats aswell, they deliberately made the controls for boats and planes very different. But they're both manageable, that's where you see who is willing to get better at a game and who just wants everything to be easy from the get-go.

#165411 Need help reset wii-u

Posted by WaddleDee on 01 February 2013 - 07:56 AM

I guess you're talking about the parental control pin? (don't think there's any other)

Unfortunately as far as I know there's no further way to truly reset the console if you don't know the PIN, and you might want to contact the previous owners for the PIN.

I'm not 100% sure though, so it might be smart to wait for another person to reply.

#164935 EA doesn't feel the Wii U is Next-Gen

Posted by WaddleDee on 30 January 2013 - 04:31 PM

So if this isn't Gen 4 then what is?

Oh right, "next gen" is nothing but "even better graphics" nowadays.

#164148 Legend of zelda wind waker is a full price commercial release

Posted by WaddleDee on 28 January 2013 - 10:46 AM

$60 is only a fraction of what the memories of that game mean to me.

I'd literally pay a thousand to play it again with modern-day technology.

#163774 Did they ever fix SSBB lag?

Posted by WaddleDee on 27 January 2013 - 03:30 PM

What a shame...

Oh well, the next game will definitely be worth it.
