I purchased this game today, and it is being shipped to my local store for pick-up (free shipping that way). I am very glad to support this developer, even though I'm not really a fan of this series. They have put so much effort into this title that there is no way I was going to NOT reward their efforts.

 

Hopefully I have a few minutes of fun when I finally bring it home. :-) This purchase was all about supporting a developer who actually cares, and not really much else. Here's hoping that voting with my wallet pays off.

 

 

Yeah....I'm not sure about this line of thinking either. So you spent $30-60 on something you probably won't enjoy just for third party support? Would you buy a candy bar you hated just because someone spent a lot of time making it and you wanted to help them? No of course not. They do it as a business and hey, its a great game and I hope you enjoy it, but thats probably not a very good reason at all to spend money on anything.

I don't need a "to do list" in my games. I play them to have fun and not do the most random crap just to make myself look better by upping my gamer score.

Not really a DUMB thing to say. Most people end up getting 2 consoles anymore. So really if I have one of the other 2, it doesn't matter if it doesn't come to Wii U anyway.

 

And aren't people always clamoring for MORE Mario, Zelda, Metroid, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, etc? Franchise games mostly have the same core mechanics at heart. Maybe YOU are tired of them alan666, but don't go throwing the rest of us in there when I'd still rather be playing the same sorts of games I grew up with as opposed to a million FPS and sandbox games that aren't much different from each other.

It probably transfers your points over because it uses Origin instead of XBL or Nintendo Network to store that data.

 

Loving the game so far. Not sure where this "doesn't look as good" thing came from cause it IS the PC textures.

Unless your HD tv is bigger then 36", you can't tell the difference between 720p and 1080p anyway.

If you are a Nintendo fan, you buy the system for NINTENDO GAMES!!!!

 

Anything extra we get is just a bonus.

Binx seems butt hurt that he likes mediocre sequels to mediocre franchises (except for bioshock).

 

As far as whats out, Mario, Tekken, Scribblenauts and CoD as far as retail goes. I guess if you are a sports fan NBA 2K would be a decent choice as well. Download wise you have Trine 2, Nano Assault, and Mighty Switchforce if you don't have the 3DS version already. Really though, Mario is the cream of the crop. It's true the rest of NSMB series has been...........well the 2 handheld ones sucked and Wii was only average as far as Mario games go. U is WAY better and easily stands besides the classics. Boss battles are still too easy for my liking and the music is mostly the same crap they have had for 4 GAMES NOW (seriously Nintendo, Mario music rocks except for these games), but it's challenging, fun to play, and has a ton of hidden stuff.

 

REALLY looking forward next few months for Pikmin 3, NFS Most Wanted, and Wonderful 101.

Could always just buy a skin if they don't come out with the color you want.

The guy that gave this game a 1 obviously hasn't played NSMB2 (which is probably the only Mario platformer I would call a mediocre game).

It's not original but all but SMB2 share basically the same design. So really you are dealing with different costumes and level design every game. This one can sit easily alongside the classics (1,3,World and Yoshi). Gave it a 9.

It won't matter what the power distance is because:

1: You aren't going to be able to tell as much generation to generation going forward.
2. Someone at BioWare just commented today that because of development costs, you aren't going to see a lot of developers pushing the machines and making them much better looking then they already are. If they did, he estimated some games would have to sell "20-30 million copies" just to break even.

As poorly as the Wii U has sold since Christmas, Sony and Microsoft are going to have a very difficult time selling machines that are in the $400-500 range. Factor in the lack of compatibility, lack of a GoW or Halo for either system, and most of the big name titles coming out on current gen machines too, and there really isn't a reason to make the jump to either without a game in your favorite series coming out that you absolutely must have. Which for me would be Halo 5 (probably 2 years off in other words).

Mega Man X

Gamecube and the SNES no question. Probably would have to give the edge to Gamecube since that controller fits my hands like a glove. REALLY wish a Nintendo or a third party would make a Pro controller for Wii U that looked like it.

They could improve their advertising.........by actually advertising.

Hi I am mmxforever (or Dan haha). Just randomly looking for more friends on Wii U and found this place. Also a member on GoNintendo, friendcodes, NintendoAge and was one of the admins on MegaManX9.com for a few years. HUGE Mega Man X fan (as the name suggests). Also really into the Mario Kart, Mario, Sonic, Halo and Pokemon franchises. Also have a 3DS but didn't feel like looking up my friend code atm. Will try and get that up for you guys
