I sense this is going to irritate people but they are probably the right ads for the right audience.

Nintendo's kinda got it. They just can't explain completely right. @_@ For the commercial's audience, I guess it works.
Some people always have a cellphone on them. I'm so awesome I always have a 3DS.

If they were diehard core gamers they'd already know, now wouldn't they? Games wouldn't be much of a problem either. Kinda like Vita. Doesn't seem like alot, but once you start digging you find a gold mine.

Most of them already know about the Wii U, these commercials are for families, Most of them don't even know it exists... there was 1 family that bought the Wii and the New super mario bros U thinking it would play the game...
Well, I've finally found my Starfox, and I love it.

No. The diehard gamers are playing Xbox's and still think the Wii U is just shovelware and is unaware of how cool it is because all they see is a stupid corny kiddie image.

i didn't clicked to see them... U see little children and fathers, also grannies... To be honest I saw 1 and they speak about "upgrading to wii U" ... Then they say " why people think its an upgrade and not a new console" I am going to be a hater if I say this adverts are fail?
Who takes decisions for these adverts?

Whose got the money? the parents. Who are those ad's aimed, the parents.
Nintendo will pick up hardcore fans with software not ad's. When they have the right software they'll advertise it.
For the time being treating it as an upgrade when you have such a high install base seems like a sensible approach.
