The difference between Vgchartz and Nintendo (Sony and MS aswell) is that Nintendo reports shipped numbers, whilst Vgchartz tracks sold to consumer.

I also expect something out of Nintendo at this meeting. They can reassure investors concerning the western market (1st party and 3rd party games), but for the japanese market things aren`t so good.

Thats a good point.  When Nintendo says 3.45 million sold, thats to retailers.  I still wouldnt be suprised if VGchartz is understracking them by quite a bit.  I kind of doubt retailers are sitting on 500k Wii U's when there is only a total of 3 million in homes.  I could be wrong, but it wouldnt suprise me if VGchartz is off by a 150k.  Their software tracking over at VGchartz sucks though, they show an attach ratio of 2 to 1, everyone I know that owns a Wii U has more than two "retail" games.  When there are so many of us with 5+ games, then that would mean there are a ton of Wii U gamers out there with nothing but Nintendo Land, and that I seriously doubt.  Maybe the eshop sales are higher than a I realized.  The Deluxe digital promotion may have enticed a lot of people to download full retail games.

I have no idea how many Wii U`s are on shelves. That number doesn`t seem all that strange.

In terms of software i think they are undertracking. The difference is just way too big. Don`t know if it`s a tracking problem or if it`s a tracking problem plus eshop selling more than expected.

Everyone is blinded by the launches of the PS2, 360, and Wii. Two of the three were supply driven hysteria, and the other was an unexpected fad, which turned into supply driven hysteria.

Does anyone really think this is going to work with the next consoles? The world is a very different place than it was in 2000, 2005, and 2006-7. The entertainment options coupled with a reduction in disposable income, PLUS the fact that the generational leap will not be as large as your thinking makes for a very different scenario (I have proven this by showing 360/PS3 owners Battlefield 3 running maxed out in 1080p. They are not falling all over themselves like you would think when I would do this.).

Luckily, for all of us, we are back to a point where gameplay matters more than tech to the majority. Nintendo better react in some fashion to the competition, as the Wii U is no Wii, and if they do not react, it will be more like a cross between the N64/Gamecube presuming they ignore their competition. If they have a fantastic lineup, which they should, we should be fine. Otherwise, why launch early?

Why not? Anyway, after having my Gamepad fail like 5 times trying to play a game, (kept disconnecting, and my Wii U was like 2 feet from the game pad) I gave up, took his offer. And why shouldn't I of? I mean when I do decide to play a game, I cant cause of the gamepad disconnections, and crazy input lag on the ONE VC game I have

I never had that problem. Yours must be defective. I suggest using your warranty. Otherwise you are missing out on a kickass system.

Yep, mad that I was posting at work, and heard someone creeping up to the desk before I could mention the Yen's weakening to their advantage;).

As a finance major, I am disappointed that was not the first thing out of my 'fingers'.
