Hi

I am planing on buying a WiiU and was just wondering if it is possible to play Super Mario Bros U with 2 Wii Remote and Gamepad?

I know u can't play a character with gamepad when playing local multiplayer, but I was wondering if it is possible to use it when there are 3 people playing the game like 2 people would use the Wii Remote and the third would just place platforms? :)

THX for the reply ;)

Yes you can. You can have anywhere from 2-5 players on multiplayer mode.

Thanks so much for the answers.

Just one more OFF-TOPIC question, what Nintendo titles are multiplayer?? Like internet multiplayer? I'm not interested in COD and AC3 (although good titles but I have PC for them) I am interested in exclusives for the WiiU ;)

The gamepad player is only able to place platforms.
They do not control a player unless in 1 player mode.

You can play up to 4 characters and 1 user with the upad to place platforms in boost mode.

You can't play with the gamepad as a character but a platform maker. So you'll have to deal not being in the game but help your buddies making platforms and tapping enemies.

Just to fill you in, the gamepad play is boost mode only. You can't play 2 people on the TV and one on the gamepad with characters.

why didn't Nintendo let us play at the same time with the gamepad, I mean playing on your own makes it impossible to get all the star coins, which encourages you to have to switch on a tv and add another player, and force one to make platforms, arggggg nintendo

What are you talking about? It is possible to get every Star Coin by yourself. The reason they made it so you can't play and place blocks down at the same time was because they put that feature in there for speedrunning purposes, and that requires constant focus for the player. It would have been nice to have an option though.

First... you throw away the gamepad...

Then... you use Wii remotes!

Everyone wins! Except for that awkward fifth player waiting for their turn...
