I was thinking today, but most from what we have heard is based on rumors. Not many confirmed facts are known about this mysterious game. What do we actually know for sure about it? Did they even confirm an E3 reveal? I'd like sources with your answers because I want to know legitimate information only.
What do we KNOW about Retro's game?

Probably Metroid, Starfox or FZERO. And it's a project everyone wants them to do.

No, Nintendo has stated this a while back.

It does not appear to be a new IP because why would they say its a project everyone wants them to do. If it's Donkey Kong or Kirby, most likely people will be disappointed but it's unlikely because how many people are begging for Retro to make the next Kirby or Donkey Kong?

I hope it is Metroid X Star fox that would be cool.

Everything we know about the game
1. Its something that everyone wanted Retro to do.
2. They hired Employees from shooter games from big games (i THINK it was naughty dog employees and some from rachet and clank)
I have speculated this in the past with a lot of research, i am willing to put money on the table that it IS IN FACT A Metroid Game they are making.

They never said that, that was a rumor from 100-year-old-gamer which isn't confirmed
This is almost a direct quote from a rumor last week.
Actually thats a quote they said from the first day they they started making the game.

I would be disappointed if it was Star Fox to be honest. You could go through Star Fox 64 in a few hours, and every design choice after that has beem criticized. A Star Fox that plays like 64 would be a waste of development time and manpower for Retro. (Not saying I wouldn't like another Star Fox, just that it would be a waste of Retro's time.)
I will not die until I achieve something. Even though the ordeal is high, I never give in. Therefore, I die with no regrets~Ikaruga Prologue

Actually it's a rumour form about a year ago from paul galeThis is almost a direct quote from a rumor last week.
They didn't.No, Nintendo has stated this a while back.
Reggie said around Christmas I believe that e3 would be a more appropriate time for them to discuss Retro's work.Did they actually say it will be revealed near E3? Because lately I only see them talking about Mario, Kart and Smash.
That's all they've said officially.

"Retro Studios also said that they were working on "a project that everyone wants us to do". Here are a few possibilities they may be working on."
Where did you find that it was a rumor from "Paul Gale"?
Even if it isn't true.. does it really matter anyway? They're still probably making something everyone wants them to do anyway.
