SMS is pretty much my favorite game of all time...
Though if there were a sequel, I want to be different. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was almost the same as Super Mario Galaxy (save for the levels).

What if you were on Delfino Island for the most part but you could also travel to other places from previous Mario games and even have some classic side- scrolling levels. Wouldn't be cool to see FLUDD in side-scrolling action.
sounds like Epic Mickey

I hope it would not be on 3DS! I hate when a home console game gets a sequel on a handheld. Look at what happened with the Wind Waker. It was a crazy game. It got two sequels on DS and, even though they werent bad, they didn't feel the same, and were much more focused on gameplay.I'm all for a Super Mario Sunshine 2, whether it'd be on the 3DS or the Wii U. I've never played the original, but a lot of people have said that it was a very good game, so I'd like a new Sunshine game. Failing that, the original game on the Wii U's Virtual Console would also be very nice.

Expansive and exploratory is great for Zelda, but it just makes mario boring.
They should be making a new 3d mario game, a successor to the great Galaxy 2. If not that, then Super Mario 64 with 2 player co-op.

To each their own I suppose. I personally was not a fan of Galaxy, and because of that, I never did buy Galaxy 2.You're kidding. Super Mario Sunshine was the worst mario game I've ever played. They tried to put a LoZ world in a Mario game and it doesn't work. You get lost constantly and often forget what you're doing. Super Mario 64 is amazing, and the Galaxy games are even better, but Sunshine was an unfortun ate dark time in Mario's history.

However, I'm sure that if they decide to make a sequel, they'll make it work somehow...

I could see Sunshine 2 taking place on Wu-Hu Island as it is slightly similar to Isle Delfino. (Small city with massive volcano behind it)
All though I want to see a mario game inside a massive town outside of the castle.
I doubt a sequel will come because myiamato said that the game play wasn't accessible enough

That is one hell of a picture my friend!!
A sequal to this game has been number One on my wanted list since almost Ten years back!! Please Nintendo, don't remake this on the 3DS .. just make a sequal!! But if U insist on an remake instead .. do it for the Wii U.

I remember a big thing about Sunshine was the fact you could vary the flow of water with the analog trigger on the GameCube controller. Neither Wii U nor 3DS have these types of triggers. It would seem like going back to playing the Wii version of Twilight Princess right after playing Skyward Sword. It would annoy the crap out of me.
However, I'm sure that if they decide to make a sequel, they'll make it work somehow...
That's what I'm concerned about too. I really don't see why they dropped analog triggers. I also remember a similar function in Luigi's Mansion to control the power of the suction.

I still don't get what the big deal is. I always just pressed it all the way down, never really had to do it lightly. Never did play Luigis Mansion, but I assume I could've played it in a similar manner. That's what I'm concerned about too. I really don't see why they dropped analog triggers. P.S. Petey was one of the best bosses I ever faced, along with King Blooper. So make them appear in variations according to the geography of the stage/area.

I suppose they could do without it. Analog triggers would be sort of nice to have, but oh well. It's probably too late for Nintendo to change their minds.
