um... who was complaining? yes it was disappointing at first but no one is still complaining over it.

I gave up watching this 5 minutes in... he was pointing out the obvious soooo much and talked about stuff people should already know by watching the trailer.

I played 3D land, and all the 3D mario games, and all the NSMB games, this is basically 3D land and NSMB... it looks bad, no yoshi, no stars, linear, no hub.

Super Mario 2 but on Wii U

Super Mario World but on Wii U

Mario 64 but on Wii U.

 

The game pulls unique features and concepts from several of the past games which makes it unique in it's own right.

You know what? I realized why I am upset about this game....

 

1.flag pole= short levels

2.no 3D mario elements (yoshi, fludd, fish riding thing, mini games, etc)

3.it looks a lot like the new super mario brothers games, and plays like it too, this has been done with 3D land before so it's not really new, and it looks like it should be on the 3DS... oh and there's a timer which is annoying...

 

The MAIN reason why I don't like this game is how short the levels are! I hate it how short the levels were in 3D land! Ugh!

I am a die hard mario fan, mainly of the 3D mario games, I love the NSMB games and respect the retro mario games for what they are, but I am more of a modern mario game fan, I am not a fan of how they interpertated the elements into this game, plus all the retro mario games were 2D side scrollers, I would have loved if they when all out and they made this game HUGE with stars and everything, not like a sequel or a reboot or whatever to any other mario game, something that would be respected as like it's own game, not compared to something else...

You'll learn that many are uninformed. We are a minority that know about gaming in general.

Did you even play it at Best Buy, or did you make your assumption from the Nintendo Direct?

I was originally  gonna go play it at best buy but the closest one was too far and decided it was not worth it, I am judging it from the trailer and the gameplay I saw on all the levels.

Well, the game was actually a lot of fun and took the best aspects of Super Mario World and 3D Land. The co-op was amazing, there were some challenging levels, especially in co-op. It's not really fair to judge something without playing it also.
