Nintendo made a pretty big deal about having demos of upcoming games at specified Best Buy locations during the week of E3. Who here had a chance to actually try out any of those demos, first hand?

 

Personally, I was planning to, but I was out of town (and off the continent for that matter) during the week of E3, so I missed my opportunity. I am particularly interested in hearing thoughts about Mario Kart 8 from the folks that got to give it a test drive.

Every time I hear about these demos I get sad... I didn't wanna go because it was too far and I decided it was not worth it... but now I realize I was stupid X(

I got to play Mario, Mario kart, and donkey kong freeze. I also got a free 20 dollar eshop card it was pretty fun didnt get a chance to get a luigi coin or hat though

I was there, and tried out mario 3d world, Mario Kart 8, and Zelda WW HD. All of them were pretty awesome. Mario 3D world is gonna be a riot with my friends. some really cool level design with the whole cat suit power. Mario Kart felt like typical mario kart (which is a good thing). the game looked soo good in HD, and the anti - gravity seemed pretty cool. And for Wind Waker...well, it's freaking beautiful! Can't wait for this one. you had the choice between a boss battle, or to just run around outset island. I went with the island just to see the brightness, and the colorfulness of everything. It was amazing!

I went to Best Buy on both days. I got to play (in total) 2 levels of 3D World, 2 levels of Tropical Freeze, both demos (Helmaroc battle and Island stroll) for Wind Waker, and all 3 courses in Mario Kart. Everything in the demos was great, despite some awkward control schemes for 3D World's multiplayer and Tropical Freeze. I ended up with two Mario Kart flags, two Luigi coins, a promo pamphlet for the event, an E3 press site flyer, a Luigi hat, and a Lego City Undercover poster. They also had some 3DS demo units on a table for people to play while waiting. I had a good time, I hope Nintendo does more stuff like this in the future.

I played on Friday (My 16th Birthday!), and it was amazing! Everyone was really nice, and I got to see footage of just about everything. I saw all of Mario Kart, both Zelda levels, the minecart and boss level of Donkey Kong, and everything except the water and boss level of Mario. I only got to play 3D World, but that was so much fun. I got a Luigi hat, which was badass, and liads of streetpasses. I also found a sealed copy of Halo 2, but didn't have money to get it.
