Pikmin Nintendo Direct this Wednesday.

The stream kicks off at 8:00PM Tokyo time, Wednesday June 26.

The pair will discuss the franchise while playing the latest entry, Wii U exclusive Pikmin 3.

Tune in via the Nintendo Direct website, but as the announcement comes form Nintendo of Japan, it’s Japanese-language only for now. Nintendo of America and Europe may reveal equivalent events in the near future, if history is any guide.

Pikmin 3 is headed to Wii U in July; Miyamoto has said the Wii U was made for this game and that it is the ultimate version.

Preetty sure we'll get this for NA and Europe. They just haven't announced it yet.

I'm still not sure if I should buy this game... It looks good but I'm not sure if I will be a fan of it. I enjoyed Pikmin 2 but didn't like the original..

I'm still not sure if I should buy this game... It looks good but I'm not sure if I will be a fan of it. I enjoyed Pikmin 2 but didn't like the original..

 

There isn't a max time limit like there was in the original if that is what you are worried about. Only the normal day time limit.

I'm excited for it as it will be my first time playing the series! There are many Nintendo franchises I will just being getting into with wii u. Hopefully they don't leave me completely in the dark having not played previous installments. Eventually I may go back and do early stuff when the VC expands (and do wii installments of some franchises as well) but for now trying to keep my money just on wii u software.

Pikman 3 should be the ultimate version with the GamePad. I wasn't a fan of Pikman until I heard about this game.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who will be playing this series for the first time with 3. I am excited to finally be looking into all these Nintnedo franchises I missed out on but its a little intimidating and frustrating too espicially sense i would prefer to play wii u software rather than back tracking right now.

2 new Pikmin types have already been confirmed.

Rock Pikmin can't attach to enemies, but they are so heavy they can break barriers and bludgeon enemies.

Winged Pikmin can fly, allowing them to carry stuff over hazards.

I'm tired of hearing about the same Pikmin 3 news over and over again. Just let the game release, and let players discover some features on their own.

 They had the audience cracking up constantly Shigeru has a future after retiring from Nintendo. WTB translator.

 

 Game looks beautiful and there's no way I can see that the gameplay isn't groin grabbingly great.
