It's really sad people need to spend countless hours on the internet fighting over stuff like this =/ That's why IGN is such an horrible site. The community is just plain awful.

I mean, I'd at least round it to 9.0 (Seriously, x.8~9 is just asking for complaints), but it's a fair score from what I can tell...
Can't make full judgement on it yet though since I don't get the game 'til August 4th.

I'm really disappointed with the length of the story mode and after I just completed Pikmin 1 last week (for the first time), I'm kind of upset that the game will not offer a real challenge in comparison to its predecessor. But maybe the Challenge Mode will make that up.
Anyway, 8.8 is still more than great, can't see how that should affect my decision to get the game.

Meh. 8.8 is great for a niche title on IGN. Besides, it's a large score for an RTS already seeing as a lot of RTS's on IGN don't get 9 above.

I would have been happier if it got an 8.0 and was a 20 hour game that was challenging. So now we have Pikmin 3 and Wonderful 101 that are both coming out well after the WiiU launch window since they required additional development time......and the reviews for Pikmin and previews of 101 are complaining about game length. To that I say WTF.

There's nothing horrible about IGN. As for the comments sections they are introducing moderation now and hopefully that will help.

Now that she has joined the Nintendo Tree House you're not going to see anymore reviews from her.

Reviews are opinions. If you don't agree with them then fair enough that doesn't mean you should slag off a site just because you don't happen to agree with their review comments or score. Besides if you look at Metacritic pretty much the rest of the gaming media is giving similar scores.

Again its not just IGN. Pretty much all gaming media is giving it similar scores. It may be a review but its also just one persons opinion. Not everyone is going to agree what the score and review should be.
