Hmmmm, this is a general note but anyone buying it on first day should have a minimum of at least 400 bucks saved. That's without purchasing a game.

That's the nice thing about buying with all Gamestop credit...no tax

But yeah, I have 2 games pre-ordered, also. Undecided on the Pro Controller right now, hoping the Gamepad feels good enough for general gaming that I don't have to get one.

Dunno how many of you guys are europe based here (seems less than half anyway) but the only way I could find value in the uk was to get the zombiu pack.Sort of takes the edge off it by including the game and pro controller

I totally agree with you here dude. I have got a £20 deposit down at GAME, where £359.99 gets you the Premium console (Black) with Nintendo Land of course AND ZombiU AND a pro controller. 2 games and a controller for an extra £90 basically. Bangin!

If you're talking about the posts at the beginning of this thread, it's because Epic Kirby created it before E3 2011, when we first heard the name "Wii U". Back then it was either "Wii 2" or "Project Cafe."

I agree, I got it for £331 on Amazon including First Class Shipping and that's great value considering the game and Pro controller are £40 each and the Premium Bundle is £300. Since I was intending to get a Wii U Pro Controller anyway I'm saving £50-£60.

That bundle doesn't normally include Nintendoland just ZombiU. I would check your paperwork for your pre-order. I have a feeling that Game may have initially said it was included but isn't now. If you have any evidence that it is included when you ordered they will have to supply it. There seems to be some mistakes when the prices were first announced. A very small number of people managed to pre-order a premium bundle at £199.99 and Amazon are honouring it. I pre-ordered the Wii U premium at Expansys at £254.99. Since then as far as I can tell prices and included parts have been corrected.

Congrats on getting that price!I saw the deal at the time and convinced myself it wouldn't be honoured =[ ah well 329 for me from hmv in store no delivery appealed as the last few big things I have pre ordered have not turned up on time

I managed to pre-order the Premium ZombiU pack for £299.99 on Zavvi although I'm skeptical as to whether that price will be honoured considering it went up to £319.99 a week after I placed my order.

I preordered early and have made gradual payments, I was hoping for a little cheaper, but I'm not complaining. Making gradual payments has worked out very well for me. Can't wait for Hd Nintendo goodness!!

I have £485, ZombiU Bundle was £330, £20 to Pre Order, Assassin's Creed 3 is £50, Scribblenauts Unlimited is £50 and Tank! Tank! Tank! is £35, add it all together £330 + £20 + £50 + £50 + £35 = £485 Need about another £15 for taxi fare on the day and my sausage, egg and bacon bagguette and coffee while I sit outside the store waiting for it to open at 8:00am

From what I understand UK prices are a little higher than expected. I think the basic wii u package was meant to be £230 and the premium £280 but retailers have pushed the prices a bit higher maybe because of low stock levels for launch. It's possible post christmas prices may settle a little lower when stock is readily available. Its a bit like the 3DS situation where retailers pushed the price a bit too high at the beginning. Consoles normally have quite a low margin and I guess its no surprise retailers wanted to set it a bit higher.

That £205 will be with VAT and probably represents the minimum order number price per unit which may be something like 1-5 units. People ordering larger numbers will get slightly better margins if they are allowed to order higher numbers.

So £205 equals £170.83 before VAT. £250 equals £208.33 before VAT so the gross profit margin is £37.50 for the basic model. I guess Nintendo were hopeing that shops would settle for a margin of only £20 and make their money on the software.

nintendoland package = 274.99
zombi u = 37.95
call of duty black ops 2 = 32.95
scribblenaults = 34.95
mario u = 39.75
wii u pro controller = 32.99
all above from zavv
and then sonic racing from play.com = £29.99

total = £483.57 that wii u boack 32gb, wii u pro controller and 6 games plus me and bro share a flat so went halfs on it

Also games cost 88 dollars each.

Litte late for that. Doesn't he know Nintendo's already selling the WiiU at a loss? I'm pretty sure only the DSi, DSi XL, Wii, and 3DS XL are making a profit. The WiiU's price is great.

It worked out well for me because I preordered so early... I paid 30 dollars out of every paycheck for a few months. Now I have my gaming machine!
