If you're not watching it because it isn't anime, that's sort of pointless.  An animated show can be good and not from Japan.

I watched it because I liked the concept and I agree with you

Book one was amazing and in some ways exceeds the Legend of Aang.

Varrick is the best character in the entire avatar universe, hands down.  Every single thing he does or says is hilarious and I hope he sticks around for the whole season.

Really another corrupt Water Tribe bender? We just had one last season. It's just a minor nitpick, but I have to admit, I saw all this coming from the first episode so I wasn't too surprised.

Meh, today's episode (The Sting) was boring. I felt like the build-up was just something that some people have already suspected some time ago. I'm looking forward to the two part episode next week though when we see the story of the first avatar.

I quite liked this week's episode. I thought it was great to take out Korra and focus on some character development and getting more info. What I want to see next week most is how SPOILER Korra's amnesia works out. I'm thinking she goes to the Spirit World to regain her memory and through this we get the story of Wan. Maybe even make Korra less prideful and give her a chill pill. END SPOILER

I personally really enjoyed this episode.  I was actually interesting, and made complete sense with the reveal of

being a villain.

Of course, I knew he was going to be some form of antagonist in the future, but not to this extent.  It felt like an actual reveal, and was implied over time only for it to lead up until this point.  (There was no lead up for Tarlock or Korra's uncle being villians, just making them villians from the start).

 

Overall, this was a big step up from the past few episodes, cutting out Korra, to have actual development of the plot(s).  The Korra plotline can be interesting, but not with the thug moody approach.  Seeing as she just now reached her "lowest low", I will be expecting her plot to pick up.

 

But what I'm excited most for is the 2 part episode featuring Wan.  That was what we were promised before the series even came out, and now its almost here.

 

The only real negatives I have for this episode were when the romance issues were brought up again.  And that there wasn't a Tenzin & Co. side story (or a continuation of the Wan statue, which we can probably expect next episode(s)).  The Tenzin & Co. side stories are the most interesting so far.

I wouldn't call it boring, but definitely Book 1> Book 2. Pretty different seasons so far.

Wow. I wasn't expecting these two episodes to best Book 1's finale. I LOVED the different art style. It was gorgeous and perfectly portrayed its epic. I didn't think this show could be so deep. SPOILERS So the Avatar is pretty much Raja(?) and humanity forever merged. The Avatar State is the full power of Raja through a human? I hope this brings some humility to Korra and makes her realize who she truly is. Best part of the episode? Harmonic Convergence. I totally called it reappearing. It was way too awesome to be shown once. Well, my expectations for the next episodes are sky high. It'll be interesting to see how it all comes together. END SPOILER
