Well, a trailer has just been released for the new Higurashi anime (not sure if it will be anime, an OVA, or a movie)

Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni Kaku

or

Higurashi Outbreak

The new anime adapts the short story "Higurashi Outbreak" by Higurashi no Naku Koro ni creator Ryukishi07 (07th Expansion). Toshifumi Kawase, the series script supervisor of the previous Higurashi anime projects and the director of Higurashi no Naku Koroni Rei, is helming the new anime. Souichiro Hoshi, Mai Nakahara, and Satsuki Yukino are reprising their roles in the voice cast.

"Higurashi Outbreak" is set in the same Hinamizawa village of the previous stories. The village has been completely sealed off due to a mysterious virus in 1983, and Keiichi Maebara and Rena Ryūgū deal with the outbreak.

Seeing as I am a big Higurashi fan, I'll definitely be looking forward to this.

Looks proper series quality, but who knows.

The ovas have pretty much sucked.

I am still yet to watch Higurashi, I'm not big on gore but I'll still give it a shot.

I have a complaint about 8th grade syndrome or whatever the name of the anime was.
It was good, and had a great ending for a Japanese story.
However, the gaping plothole they opened up for no reason at the end was just silly.
The guy moved to the furthest high school he could and she just happened to follow him?
How did she live above him twice?
Do they commute to school 18 hours a day or what?

That sounds like the ending to a harem series. I haven't finished this anime yet. It's good, but I lost interest for a while.

Seriously need to get back to watching anime.

Last time, I gave Samurai Champloo an second shot on Netflix and ended up liking it more than I originally did over it's debut on Adult Swim ages ago.

Also, I watched the first episode of Angel Beats halfway through, haven't finished yet.

Suffers from Japan's no-ending problem but it was alright.

Indeed. I'm a fan of it, but It really needs a second series or a film, The ending was a bit ridiculous. They completely missed out the Last of the five novels. It would be stupid to miss out such a large portion of the storyline and leave it hanging like that.

Right now I am really enjoying watching Gankutsuou (Count of Monte Cristo). The introduction of the episodes are in french, which I thought was pretty cool. Not really following any other anime besides JoJo's Bizarre Adventure . I just finished Madoka Magica and really enjoyed it for its dark atmosphere.

Well I was planning on getting into Bakemontogari, but I got distracted.

I was bored last Saturday and was looking for a live toonami stream and came across a livestream with VHS quality toonami.  The first episode of Yu Yu Hakishou came on and I realized that I never watched the series all the way through.  So here I am, already 77 episodes into it...

The spring anime season is among us. Any shows you might consider following?

For me it's RDG Red Data Girl, Aku No Hana, Higurashi Outbreak, Shingeki No Kyojin all seem like shows that I might be interested in. Hopefully Higurashi Outbreak will actually be good. Well, the season certainly seems better than the winter season of anime.

Well, from looking at the chart, it seems it will come out sometime during the spring anime season. Here is the chart for spring anime, if you are curious:

Just thought I'd butt in and... idk...

If you haven't at least heard of it, you should try Fooly Cooly & Time of Eve

Those are probably the ones that have left a lasting impression on me, although I don't watch much anime. I am currently going through Sword Art Online, through request of my friend. Although it seems a little... wanting, does it get better? Would you say it has a bad start?

I would actually say the exact opposite. I thought sword art online started pretty good until it got to the second season. So if you don't like it now, I don't suggest you continue to the second season. I tried Fooly Cooly, but I couldn't really get into it. I thought it was kind of bizarre, but I guess I could give it another try.

Currently I have been watching Attack on Titan and am going to finish the rest of Clannad: After Story and Gankutsuo: Count of Monte Cristo. Attack on Titan is currently my favorite anime for the spring anime season. I was going to try to follow RDG: Red Data Girl as well. I will try Aku no Hana, even though the art work is horrible and rotoscoped.

Yeah, first season of sword art online was definitely better. (or rather part 2) when the alfheim section of the story plays, it kinda stagnates.

If you haven't watched sakurasou no pet na kamojo go do it. Every EP is a blast . Only anime this season I've been watching is nyarko W,.

I was disappointed to see that the "new DBZ series" everybody was hinting at turned out to be nothing more than a collaboration special with Toriko and One Piece. *sigh*
