I just though I'd ask. 

 

Here's what I'm fairly sure about:

 

1. Fully backwards compatible with the Wii and Wii U. Gamecube games will be in the eShop

2. support for four gamepads. Gamepad will probably be higher resolution (720p most likely)

3. 3D support, but only if 3D TVs actually kick off in time for Nintendo to implement 3D. Otherwise no 3D

4. most likely no 4k support. The Xbox One and PS4 don't support 4k games, so Nintendo won't bother implementing it

5. Clearly more powerful than the PS4 and Xbox One, but won't be more powerful than the PS5 and Xbox Two

6. Will problably come with a virtual reality headset, like a refined Oculus Rift. otherwise Nintendo will have to find a different edge.

7. Either will come with 128-512GB NAND and/or 500gb+  HDD, or will have a means of upgrading storage (either internal hard drive support or a possibly proprietary flash module)

 

What about you? what expectations do you have from Nintendo for their future consoles?

Why does everyone say this? The Wii was the only console to on par with a previous gen.

The NES was great for it's generation.

The SNES wasn't lacking anything.

The N64 was actually the most powerful of it's generation.

The GameCube had kick ass graphics.

And the Wii U... The crappy ports it's been getting don't show anything it can do. Give it more time before you say it's on par with the last gen. I'm sure first party titles in the future will show it's a next gen console.

The Wii was actually 2-3 times more powerful than the GameCube, which was the most powerful sytem that generation. So, not exactly on par.

• Merging of handhelds and home consoles with a gamepad that has the console inside it that streams to a tiny box that's connected to the TV.
• The GamePad will be 720p or 1080p.
• All games will be digitally downloaded ( ).
• Will support four normal (exactly the same as what we have today) gamepads, and will support 4 wii remotes as well.
• Can download Wii U games, probably not Wii games (they'd need to actually port the Wii games, they could just use the existing download system for Wii U games).
• 3DS games will be downloadable and playable in 3D if you have a 3D TV.
• 4k support for some games (not many, but a a few indie games maybe).
• All games will support 3D.
• Virtual console would include Wii games, Gamecube games, DS games, Gameboy games, N64 games etc.

 

Just my wish list. Do you guys want any of this too?

-full backwords compatability with wiiU, wii games implemented for digital download 1-2 years after release. all other nintendo consuls in virtual consul, PS1/PS2/xboxog games if xbox or PS brand dont survive to 2020.  

-720p gamepad with 3D feature, default 4, + wiimote+ unknown inovation+ possible occulus rift support.

-8 player local max for some games 4x gamepad+4 TV. 

-500gig-1TB harddrive+ optional external. 

-as implied earlier, continuation of GC CPU line+new GPU, ruffly 4-5x more powerful than PS4/X1 at release, noticably weaker than PS5/xbox two squared. on par with modern mid-high range PC raw

-supports 4k but few games will use it, most early 1080p/60+ some 1440p and 4k indies.

-6core design max, possible hybrid core design.  

-attempt at innovation.

-working online

 

managment:

maymoto (i have no idea how its spelled, hopefully it sounds close enough), retires, but still overlooks some ninty development. 

nintendo with noticable changes in managment, start newer 2 consul set (not directly related to wiiU except for backwords compatability)

still making amazing games.

 

games: still amazing, 

many still doing frantchises. 

hopefully more 3rd party support, but still not top priority. wither it ends up unsupported or well supported is up to be seen.

Nintendo will need to be more an entertainment machine next. I really think MS Xbox One will change the outlook on the game console industry.

4K Support only if it's in everyone's home. GamePad and Wiimote controllers. And it won't keep the Wii name.

Personally, the Destiny should be the next brand name. I have always liked that name.
