i have never properly played shenmue myself but i have heard only amazing things about it. the soundtrack is absolutely fantastic! and apparently it's the most realistic game ever created. the reason i'm giving this game so much attention despite having only heard about it, is because it cost 79 million dollars to make and the 2 games together run on a total of 7 disks!!

has anyone played the series? and does anyone think it is the best or one of the best games ever created?
sega has said that shenmue 3 will always be a possibility, how about for wii u? wouldnt that be awesome?
what do you think?

also post your favourite tracks from shenmue because im looking for the best ones :D

I only played the first one and not that much, but the only thing I can say that I didn't like was the voice acting. It was a really good game, it was also a very different type of game that even today that not many games are like.

Yeah, you've done a great job so far, letting the Metal Heads destroy the palace.

I had a Dreamcast and played the first one and was impressed by it.It really was something new in its time (you even had to take up a job as a fork lift driver to earn cash) and also you could play mini games like darts etc.But most of the time you was investigating things.
The end of the first game was epic when you left on a boat in to the sunset to start the next part of the adventure.

Shenmue was so unique in its presentation and gameplay that it kept me interested for a great amount of time. And It was the first game I saw that used quick-time events (way before God of War). However, I never tried the sequel, but would like to.

I was so close to buying another copy of Shenmue I and II for my Dreamcast like || that close. I instead opted for a VGA box for my Dreamcast, Shenmue will be next :)
