Fantastic video that I think you should all watch, I agreed with a lot of stuff that was said especially the stuff about exclusive dlc, that really pissed me off when I heard it was happening in mgs

Last year was one of the worst years in gaming because of a game that's coming out this year, a couple of shady practices, and we have proven to have the ability to change things in our industry if we really want to.

I'd disagree, 2013 was awesome for me there were so many awesome games that came out on the 3DS. Was it really that bad for consoles? I didn't bother keeping up with them.

Its been pretty bad for consoles for about the past 7 years.

In my honest opinion, last year was probably one of the best years of gaming.

 

We got a new Pokemon game, a new and long awaited entry into the Grand Theft Auto series, a sequel to two older games (Luigi's Mansion 2 and a link between worlds), probably what was the best entry into the Fire Emblem franchise, the final release of Animal Crossing: New Leaf, an astonishing remake of Wind Waker, one of the best mario games in years (3D world), Sony and Microsoft's new consoles, tearaway, The Last of Us, Saints row 4, a crap load of stellar indie games, Batman: Arkham Origins, Rayman Legends, Assassin's Creed 4, and alot more i'm probably missing here.

 

And they all turned out to be amazing, quality games.

It was an awesome year for games.A great one and people who say no have a narrow view. Industry has been carping itself for a good while so no changes there. I could not get ore than 30 sec in the video. I can barely understand that dude.

I won't say one of the best but not one of the worst. It was a great year. Those that think it was bad are not looking very hard and many of those people have narrow tastes in games.

 

That's probably just about every one I forgot to list, I feel bad that I did since I own a few of those games, lol.

Thus why I haven't had one since my PS3 died on me and only recently bought a Wii U on account of the Wind Waker bundle.

It was an awesome year for games console,PC, and handheld but I agree that certain trends are looking bad. Like the exclusive dlc stuff sucks big time.

With that said I don't mind micro transactions in specific games like Forza or a sports title like nba2k, reason being some people don't have the time to spend hours and hours for a game like Forza so getting a quicker level up is ok in my book.

Still I don't agree on paying for stuff like extra cars for 5$ when those cars should be in the game, that is just wrong.

No I don't think so, like I said I agree with a lot of their points, it might not be the worst year in terms of games but developer actions are getting worse and worse, just a bad sign for the future :/

Most of the reactions here make me wonder if the commenters even took a look at that film. And if so, if they're competent enough to understand what the movie was about. It actually says that 2013 had a lot of good software but its focus is about what publishers and first parties are doing with the marketplace and us as consumers. Sure it is not only 2013 but earlier signs too, yet I hold my breath for what is coming next and hope that we as consumers dare to stand up against such practises.

I've only been an active gamer for three of the last 20 years (bought a SNES in '93 or so, GB Advance in '02, Wii U in '13).....  I haven't had this much fun with video games since the 80s at the arcades.....
