Easily the best looking game on consoles right now. Last time I was this impressed with Mario Kart was Mario Kart 64 in 1997.

its funny because you still have people on Neogaf trying hard to make the Wii U look bad. One guy said its all Artstyle and ps360 could easily pull this off... I LAUGHED OUT LOUD!

Funny thing how wrong they are This is a MK Arcade a sequel to the first.
This is the 2013 version. This is more likely what it would have looked like on PS3/360

that game even looks better than the kart racers available for 7th gen systems... MK8 blows them away its not even a challenge its a full generational leap over whats offered on ps360. No doubt about it MK8 shows Wii U graphical capabilities and its only the BEGINNING... now I fully expect Zelda U to blow minds and be the talk of the show at E3 this year.

Even with that pic most gamers are still calling the wiiu a weak system
Blah, they'll figure it out. Many will pass that judgement without playing it. Those that play though, overwhelmingly in my personal experience, admit the system is far better than the loudest internet voices will give them credit.

WOW. Information on this board is very hush hush. Its weird.
So, it runs on Namco system es3. Which i guess is part of the Namco N2 program, which is so named because of the nforce 2 cpu it used. This was back in 2002-3 when it was developed..
Namco then switched to system 357, which was an enhanced ps3 based board, in 2008.
They then switched back to the n2 pc based boards, but im betting 'es' stands for enhanced system.... But their are several variations before we even get up to es2, and none of the dates of nforce packages line up with anything past. The only thing we know for sure, is that they share the linux os, and namco and nvidia had a deal for arcade machine that released in 2013, and thats what mario kart arcade gp dx is running on, the arcade system AFTER the one based on ps3.
The es3 is most likely consideeably more powerful than ps360.... And mk8 trashes it.

I was told today that to even get MK8 to run on PC it would need to be developed with a 64 bit OS in mind. Now I know we all use 64bit OS these days but many PC game still develop with 32 bit in mind.

I wasn't going to argue against that point, but I decided against it. xD

I'm so hyped for May 30th, it's truly amazing what they did with this game. It's gonna win so many awards
Well lets not go too far. I mean we are still talking about mainstream gaming journalist that are in love with FPS and developers going after every polygon they can and chasing photo-realism.

Nah. There will always be a large portion of gamers that will hate on everything Nintendo does just because they're nintendo.

Nostalgia still makes me prefer the SNES version tho.
In fact I would love it if they as a unlock able if you could unlock the character sprites from the SNES version and use them to race on classic cup. be weird but maybe awesome.

Love the details you can see from down below like the city and mushroom tower.
That city below isn't static either. If you watch game play videos there are cars moving on streets and more. Amazing details
