Mario Kart 8 DLC has been confirmed for Japan. The first real car model for the Mario Kart series. The Merecedes-Benz GLA will be available during the summer and there will also be a special tournament during the fall.

 

 

 

 

Will update the OP when info for US/Europe hits.

Now I'm hoping for a McLaren P1 DLC. What real world car would you like to end up as DLC?

This is probably awesome though. It's funny. I even thought the commercial was funny. But it's sooo weird.

 

At least DLC is confirmed for the game. I hope we'll get character packs and more courses (maybe retro courses only for the sake of Nintendo being lazy)

Or better battle mode arenas.

Not that the other ones are bad, but I'll have to try them first. ATM they don't look as good as other battle arenas from earlier games.

Gamers have spoken out on what they would like for DLC from this game. I am scared right now and could see Nintendo messing this up. They actually have a solid track record as of late with DLC but i am not feeling this so much i mean its cool but i hope we get additional characters, courses, and such.

As long as Nintendo delivers a fair amount of content in their games, I'm okay with DLC approach.  As I mentioned in another post, I've played Mario Kart 7 for 9 months and still love it, so I think there will be plenty of content.  While I don't have it yet, I think the Mario Golf approach is fair too.  

 

As far as this Mercedes deal- I suppose it's okay. I don't know that I'll get it b/c I think having real cars might take away some of the charm of the game.  that said, if it helps them market the game and it's good for Nintendo, then good for them.
