They are. These are basically custom designed classic controllers.

Dunno, on the edge with these. they look nice in their own right, but there's also something nice about having a plain controller.

Also these have definitely been changed. Look at the buttons and -more noticeably - the C-stick..

The choice is there, this GC pad by PDP or use your own original one with the adapter by Nintendo. Win, Win.

OMG!!!! I must have that Peach one. These look very nice. Would they work with games that support classic controller, like MK8 and 3D World?

 

Also now that they are really going all out with this GC controller stuff I have a good feeling that GC games will be on VC eventually. I'm thinking probably sometime in 2015.

I don't know, something about these don't sit well with me I'm not sure exactly what though. The sticks look identical to the Gamepad/Pro Controller which is in all ways better than the smaller c-stick, but I think I like the different sizes better. I prefer the look of the buttons of the original, as the A and B buttons look like their made exactly like the Xbox 360 buttons, but I can't say anything about how they feel until I try one out.

I guess it's just that I'm so accustomed to the official Gamecube controllers that anything similar to it is automatically inferior. I guess the thing where you are so used to a specific controller (my silver GameCube controller in this case) that you refuse to use anything that is similar is true. These look fine, but I can't see myself using them.

I think they also changed the actual naming/layouts of the buttons didn't they? Isn't what used to be "Z" now just "R" and what used to be just "R" no "ZR"?

Also they added that "L" button, which before was just nothing.

They did, but that's because these technically work as Classic Controllers. I'm not sure how to feel about that either, because that means they shouldn't be able to vibrate.

I'm probably mistaken, but since Classic Controllers didn't vibrate, these wouldn't be able to. I don't know much about these, so I'm probably wrong.
