Wish they pulled the trigger. IMO would love a female Link and this design is perfect. Not sexualized just where is should be.

Kinda how I always imagined a female Link to look like and it's pretty awesome. But they shouldn't use this in canon games.

I don't see a need for female link in a canon game when you already have zelda.

It's not a love story anway. I am all for a female Link to be the hero.
Hell could be Zelda disguised as Link to save the Kingdom in some other type of story.

How is that relevant?
There is no need. The line of the hero just happened to have a female at the time of the impending disaster.
There is no Canon about the line of the hero needing to be male. They simply need to have inherited the unbreakable spirit of the hero.
Also, Zelda can not be a love interest for Link in any game other than Skyward Sword, because that would be called incest, and thats a no no.
I just like Link as a guy, is that so wrong?
Every time I say this I get called a misogynistic sexist Mcguffin. Thanks for at least not doing that to me.

Yeah I would prefer Link to be male as well. I just don't see how making him female would change the game in any way other than to be politically correct or to support feminism or whatever?
I suppose I wouldn't mind an option, since Link is apparently supposed to be an extension of the player but then we end up with Zelda becoming an RPG if we start adding all of these elements.

It doesnt need to have a reason, and it shouldnt change the game in any way Thats the whole point. It just happens to be.
Just like you want to play as link as a male, there should be an option for people to play as a female, particularly since link is just an avatar.
Technically... ALL games are role playing games.
Well fine, add in an option to play as male or female. Just don't force me to play as a female link unless it changes the story or gameplay significantly.

I know exactly what you meant. It was a joke about how Uncharted was called Dude Raider by everyone when it was first announced, and how the two characters do basically the same things. No he wouldn't because is slap him around for insulating I meant a Lara croft type of character.
I specifically said a male Lara Croft. As in changing Lara croft into a dude named... Lara croft... In a game called Tomb Raider. Not a similar type of game or character, thanks.
There is a girl named Thor and in that pic a chick with the same name as a male link.
Try to keep up.

I think a female Link would be named Linda 'cause it's similar to Linka
And a male Zelda would be named Shiek XD
Add me on Wii U if you want to settle it in Smash

There's not much reason why Link couldn't be a girl other than tradition. Lara is predominantly a female name, so they obviously couldn't name a dude Lara. They could make the main character of a Tomb Raider game a dude with the same personality as Lara and it would be fine. I have never even heard of someone named Link outside of Zelda, and there is nothing about his character or his actions that are exclusively male (other than the kiss at the end of Zelda 2, but that's a different Link than the one from Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker, Minish Cap, etc.).

Seeing as no Link is ever the same Link, I could hardly care if Link were ever a girl. I can at least understand the arguments against calling female-Thor Thor.
Sort of like how Link in ALTP is a chubby kid with pink hair and not the blond hero Link.
Don't get me wrong, though. A rule 63 universe is just stupid. Gender switches on all characters would be stupid and uncreative as hell.
